I have tried algae pad and plastic algae scrappers. They require a lot of physical effort and if you have a big tank, a lot of time. The Seachem algae scrapper was recommended to me by a guy who occasionally comes to help me sort out problems with my tropical tank. It really works and it so easy to use. The fact that the scrapper is white also helps as you can see the algae that you might have missed.

I have tried many brands of algae scrapers and I am usually disappointed very quickly. I am not a high maintenance aquarium keeper, but I needed something that actually works when cleaning my 50-gallon freshwater tank. My tank usually stays pretty clean, but this is a huge time saver. Most plastic scrapers are warped or become warped, leaving uneven contact with the glass. This means annoying streaks left behind, and I am constantly missing spots or going over 1 spot multiple times. Most metal blade scrapers do not have a good handle, do not have replaceable blades, or also become warped. This is the first scraper that I have found that actually cleans the glass evenly on both the plastic and metal blades, in 1 pass, no scrubbing required. The scrubbing pad is also very durable. Other handled scrubbing pads are too soft to do any good, begin fraying after wear, are no replaceable, are too large to fit in small spaces of the tank, and soak up a lot of water so they drip everywhere and require time to dry out. I usually don't take the time to leave product reviews, but if you are looking for a good product to clean your fish tank glass, don't waste your money on other scrapers. I really like that each piece is removable and easy to replace. You can easily switch from plastic to metal, to the pad, in a couple of clicks. Literally 3 tools in one. This is also the first scraper that I have trusted to remove some very old limescale and calcium buildup on my glass and it did so with ease and d NOT not scratch. This easily removed the soft green powder like algae on the glass, and some hard brown and green algae spots. I do love that it floats, wet hands get slippery. Very versatile, replaceable, switchable, and usable. Thank you Seachem for making a great product, this purchase was very worth the money. Whoever designed this made up for all of the poor designs of other tank scrapers.

I avoided razers for a long time.. was fine with a scubbing type brush.. but must admit it would be hard to go back.. I looked at everything on the market, and I liked this , the length the angle, the fact you could switch it around from razer to sponge (although I rarely do it). My big tank is hard to reach into, but this has made the job relatively easy.I still freak out when it doesnt feel smooth.. just take your time.. if not sure check for debris, try a different angle.. it takes algae off rly smoothly . Not sure how often to change the razer.. not a bad idea to buy a pack of replacement blades when u buy it. Definitely recommend..

Ottimo raschietto, toglie anche le alghe più ostinate senza rovinare i vetri dell'acquario! Tasto leggermente dolente è il prezzo, ma la qualità e i risultati ottenuti sono eccezionali. Trovo anche molto comodo il fatto che galleggi se si ha necessità di lasciarlo, senza doverlo poi recuperare dal fondo. Super consigliato!
