I’ve been doing a high-fat, very low-carb, moderate protein diet (similar to the ketogenic diet), with a focus on high-quality fat sources, and Intermittent Fasting (IF, 16/8) since 10/29/2018. I’ve lost 23 pounds since then - 15 of which was real excess body fat (!), and I am continuing to lose weight as well as inches. As remarkable as that is for me, a person who has struggled through many different types of eating and fitness regimens with no demonstrable results, the best part of this type of eating is that it has resulted in me having never felt better physically or mentally. I honestly can’t exaggerate: I am 30 and haven’t ever, in my whole life, felt as well as I do now. Of note, I have epilepsy due to a prior head injury, and this style of eating has, both anecdotally and objectively, helped me greatly with the issues related to that. Due to my style of eating, various types of Bulletproof drinks have become a staple; they have helped me to stave off hunger while helping to increase the amount of fat in my diet, all while still helping to keep my daily calorie intake to about 1,600-1,800 kcal per day (for this, measuring portions and tracking is key). I had been making all of my BP drinks using either organic, virgin coconut oil, or organic generic-brand powdered MCT oil. I found both to be reliable sources of fat and energy, so I didn’t feel the need to try anything “new”. Still, I was curious about Brain Octane, and decided that I would give the 3 oz. sample size a try. I very much appreciated being able to try Brain Octane in a sample size at a reasonable price before committing to buying the larger bottle. I felt this would allow me to test-drive the product and asses if there was any difference in how I felt. For about a week, I continued my eating as before, but substituted the Brain Octane in place of the coconut oil or powdered MCT’s. I immediately noticed I didn’t get “the burps” like I typically do from coconut oil about a half-hour or so after drinking it. I also appreciated that Brain Octane has a non-existent flavor. As much as I love coconut oil’s flavor profile (and you had better if you want to try an eating plan similar to mine, because even the neutral-flavored brands still have a flavor), I was glad to have a fat option that didn’t impact the taste of my coffee or tea. I didn’t appreciate a difference in my mental clarity until about the 3rd day of replacing my regular coconut oil with Brain Octane. I began to notice what felt like a better sense of mental clarity. While “mental clarity” may seem subjective, as someone who has a neurological disorder, my personal experience with varying degrees of mental clarity has helped me become acutely aware of fluctuations in my functional capacity. I’ll continue to use Brain Octane once I’ve finished my sample. I like the product for its lack of flavor, and I like the way I feel while using it. I suppose that I’ve drank the Bulletproof flavor aid, but there is, for me, a measurable difference.

This is my first time trying this product of any brand as I recently first heard about it on a podcast, unrelated to food, so I'm not sure what to expect here for this product compared to similar products. I love coffee and I'm interested in cognitive supplement enhancers to help me focus on reading and studying for university courses, so I had to test this out. I started with this Brain Octane Oil in 3oz and used it with off-brand coffee and butter because the price comes off to me as being very high and so I started low, but I don't know how much money it takes to grow coconuts and extract specific oils so maybe I'm just being poor. My initial thoughts were how it did not mix well, making the coffee greasy on top, which I expected a little since it is oil-based but not this much. The product is said to have no taste but it does when it's floating on top of the coffee, although the greasy flavor is still very good in its own way. The recommended amount with butter ends up being too greasy though so I used less and swapped out the butter for cream. Mixing the oil with sugar and a dash of salt before adding coffee also helps it mix a little bit better. The Amazon page displays this product as being blended with other products using a blender, so I don't know if I'm using this product correctly since I only received the bottle and no further instructions. Blending butter and coffee in a blender sounds like a lot to clean for everyday use. For the part that really matters though is that I do feel as though this product helps with focus and it may even be helping my body in general feel better. So this coconut oil for coffee does seem to be working really well for what it's supposed to do. I find it also works better to have some food before your coffee.

I use this to treat seborrheic dermatitis and its the only solution that works. Pair it with happy cappy and it will fix the issue. This is enough to last a long time for this use case.
