Named by the American Library Association and the New York Public Library as one of the top young adult books of the year! THE LONG-AWAITED STORY OF FANGIRLS TAKING ON TOKYO! Special large-size 2-in-1 edition of over 400 pages! "One of the best anime and manga for beginners. Enthusiasm - geeky and otherwise - is power in Princess Jellyfish. Enthusiasm saves the day and paves the road to the future." - Kotaku "Princess Jellyfish's ambition is simple: to tell a delightful story in a delightful way... It's a pretty deadly one-two punch." - Anime News Network "Loaded with heart, soul, humor and insight." - About.com STINGING BEAUTY Tsukimi Kurashita has a strange fascination with jellyfish. She’s loved them from a young age and has carried that love with her to her new life in the big city of Tokyo. There, she resides in Amamizukan, a safe-haven for girl geeks who regularly gush over a range of things from trains to Japanese dolls. However, a chance meeting at a pet shop has Tsukimi crossing paths with one of the things that the residents of Amamizukan have been desperately trying to avoid—a beautiful and fashionable woman! But there’s much more to this woman than her trendy clothes! This odd encounter is only the beginning of a new and unexpected path for Tsukimi and her friends. Review: Finally, Princess Jellyfish gets the release it deserves! - I've been a fan of Princess Jellyfish ever since watching the anime several years ago, and I always hoped the manga would be published in English. And lo and behold, now Kodansha is finally making that dream a reality! The volume itself is a 2-in-1 omnibus, clocking in at close to 400 pages, which makes it a great deal for the price. In addition to page count, the volume is also slightly larger than regular-sized manga (see my comparison photo with a volume of Sailor Moon). The design is cute and eye-catching, and there are several color pages inside as well. The paper quality is about the same as regular manga, and the translation is well-done. There are also a few pages of translation notes at the end, which are very helpful (I always appreciate it when publishers take the time to add such notes). Overall, a fantastic product! As for the story, I have always loved Princess Jellyfish for its clever humor and relatable characters (I personally can relate quite well to a bunch of nerdy girls with little to no social skills!) The humor is probably my favorite of any manga I've ever read. If you're unsure about whether you'd like the manga, I suggest watching an episode or two of the anime--if you like that, then you'll definitely love the manga. For those on the fence about buying this volume, I would recommend that you please do! Kodansha has licensed the first 12 volumes of the manga (to be published in 6 omnibus volumes), and they have stated that they will decide whether or not to publish the rest of the volumes after that based on sales figures. So if you don't support the series now, we might not get all the volumes! Show Princess Jellyfish the love it deserves! Review: Princess Jellyfish - Princess Jellyfish, or Kuragehime as it's know in Japan, is a fantastic addition to anyone's bookshelf. Filled to the brim with beauty, heartwarming moments, and humor this manga is an excellent way to pass a lazy afternoon. Tsukimi is a jellyfish otaku who lives in an apartment building with several other women with similarly 'geeky' obsessions. Together they live in harmony away from 'stylish' people, calling themselves Amaras. Tsukimi has an encounter with a beautiful woman who uses her looks as a means to live life boldly, inspiring Tsukimi to think of her as a princess. Little does our heroine know this princess is actually a man in drag! Comedy ensues and so begins Princess Jellyfish. While this is a comedy there are some really emotional moments, mostly when Tsukimi is reminded of her departed mother. It's a very human story and I think we've all felt awkward or not good enough. You can really relate. On a side note the art is really lovely and there are some very beautiful color pages! I recommend it to everyone! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #52,390 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #9 in Josei Manga #167 in Shojo Manga (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 618 Reviews | ## Images ![Princess Jellyfish 1 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71q3fQJhJfL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally, Princess Jellyfish gets the release it deserves! *by E***S on March 27, 2016* I've been a fan of Princess Jellyfish ever since watching the anime several years ago, and I always hoped the manga would be published in English. I was a bit nervous about the Kodansha translation, as I didn't care for their translation of Sailor Moon, but this one is well done! There are a few things I don't care for (such as using honorifics) but the translation notes were very useful and helped put into context some of the puns and references. The printing is lovely! I look forward to the rest of the releases! As for the series itself, it is phenomenal. A great, quirky, slice-of-llife. It is interesting for me as I can relate to both the nerdy Tsukimi and the fashionable Kuranosuke. It is a funny and sweet series that I highly recommend! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/25648339-princess-jellyfish-1](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/25648339-princess-jellyfish-1) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
