But I can recommend buying a candelabra base conversion socket ring. A candelabra keeps the lampshade from making contact with the light bulb. You can buy them at Lowe's or Home Depot in the light section. When you go to buy one of these, take an extension light cord and light bulb with you. Because the candelabra supports the lampsshade, but it's attached inbetween the light socket and light bulb.
