Can this be added to smoothies? Does it require brewing?

I would compare it to the same as adding instant coffee to a smoothie. It can be done but you may not get the best flavour. I recommend mixing it in a liquid first like a bit of hot water so it can hydrate then add to your smoothie. Regarding your second question. I have only drunk it hot as with any instant granules to get the best flavour all the granules should melt/blend into the liquid. No brewing is required like tea. Once it melts it's good.
