Q: Is there a good technique for getting these in? I can still hear everything fine.

Once these are warmed and soft, I knead them until they no longer crack when I smash them. I warm them for about 10 minutes so they are really pliable. Then I shape them into a flat disc and put them over the top of the ear opening. When I made a cone shape and put them in, my ears hurt! I 'seal' the edges with my fingers all around the ear opening. This seems to work the best for me and after traveling to Europe with all the tower bells, I swear by them!!!I can hear my hubby snore once in a while tho!

No, you don't take the cotton off.

Q: Can they be used as swimmers' ear plugs?

I don’t find that they stay in place when used for that purpose. Also, the cotton gets wet and stays wet.

Please, this is a reusable product. Make sure your hands are clean. This way the wax remains cleaner longer. Mine last around 2 weeks. Sometimes if there’s an obvious dirty speck, I’ll tear it out.
