Made shoelaces out of 4mm 1000 lb paracord. Takes a little finesse to get them on just right, I am sure after doing it a few times I will get it down. They grip real well, be sure to bend the little hook in. My shoes had small eyelets and it took a moment to get it through the eyelets. In the future I will string the lace first THEN add the Aglets.. I like the Gunmetal finish, more low key and not as attention getting as silver and gold. I have a pair of Engineer M2 PZ-57 pliers, the curved opening in the jaws worked well to shape and secure the aglet to the cord.These will be lifetime laces. Two Aglets at 8 cents each and 6 feet of cord at 6 cents a foot yields a long-lasting pair of shoelaces for about half a buck. A quality pair of boot laces can cost over 10 bucks , DYI for about a buck
