Q: Home Depot has 5 2-packs (10 traps) for $22. Why is it so pricey here?

Unless you have a humongous cricket problem, you don't need 10 traps. I found that two traps solved my problem.

Q: Maybe I'm using this wrong but I don't see crickets in the traps. Where is the paper that you're supposed to remove before using?

There is a thin paper covering the bottom of the trap. You need to fold up the sides like the picture and then take the paper strip off. The back of the package has an illustration. Hope this helps because these traps really do work.

Q: If you place the trap in one or two rooms will it work for the whole house?

You should place the traps near the entryways to the house. You can place additional traps under baseboard heating or under the stove. I have caught more than 20 in a trap before replacing it due to lack of space. It's a good product, easy to use and dispose of.
