Burley DesignBicycle Trailer Classic Hitch

Burley hitch works great, does not work with most disk brake assemblies. Will not work with any bike that has a support between the seat stay and the chain stay at the axle. On 98 percent of the bikes that are out there the hitch works wonderfully, and can be easily switched between bikes.

I bought this to replace the original/old one that I highly modified, and basically ruined, so that it would fit on a newer disc brake mountain bike. This is a nice OEM high quality piece. Just buy the new metal mount, and the other accessory to convert the Burley to work with the new disc brake setup on all newer mtn bikes.

Really hard to install and I try to return it and my time frame to do it was over.

It was a little tricky to put on and was missing a bolt but I was able to get it to work.

Great! Purchased adapter so it could be used universally with non Burley trailer. Great easy attach and detach.

I have a Burley trailer that was working great until last March (2017) when the hitch broke. So I purchased a new one here on Amazon. Worked fine until that one snapped last week (see attached picture) and fortunately nobody was hurt. I was bummed it didn't last long, but I use the trailer nearly every day for commuting my kid to day care so I ordered another. Maybe it doesn't like our cold Colorado weather? Anyway, this second one came WITHOUT THE HOLES to actually attach the flex connector to the hitch. The hitch is identical to the previous hitch except this critical bit where you need to attach - see the second photo with the broke piece next to the new hitch. Even the instructions that came with the hitch show the holes. Hoping to hear back from Burley's customer service, but super disappointed - either they've mislabeled or mis-packaged some other hitch type, or they just have a super defective batch. Either way, poor quality control.UPDATE: I contacted the customer service and they informed me a small batch of defective hitches went to Amazon. They have been super responsive and helpful and are sending me a replacement for the hole-less hitch, so up-ing the rating a bit because great customer service is, well, great :)UPDATE #2: I quickly received a replacement hitch WITH a hole. Yay! Except it broke the very day after I installed it. It was 20 degrees out and apparently these plastic hitches aren't supposed to be used or stored below freezing. Good to know - it's info buried in the user manual. Funny that the first plastic hitch that came with the trailer lasted here in Colorado - winter too! - for the first 6 years we had it. Maybe manufacturing has changed since then. Anyway, customer service suggested I switch over to the Steel Hitch.. so.. DON'T BUY THIS ONE IF YOU LIVE WHERE IT GETS COLD! :)

I have this same hitch that came on another cart I have. I wanted to make a duplicate cart using the same hitch, I liked the way this hitch performed in the past and like how it fits both my road bikes and mountain bikes. This item arrived and works great. My only disappointment is that you do not get the rubber connector pc that goes into the tube of the cart. I had to place another order for that. Picture of the product led me to assume it was complete...... That's why we don't assume I guess.

This hitch doesn't damage the axle like most of the others I've had. Little slower to connect/disconnect but sturdy

I dont know what to say here beside how on earth they are bother to patented this design. No one will use this design anyway.1. The bolt’s head preventing attachment of burley hitch mechanism (pic 1) to its hole (pic 2). Clearly the designer of this hitch is not talking with the one designing the trailer2. Classic meaning NOT SUITABLE FOR DISC BRAKE bike. I dont understand why Seller did not mentioned it specifically in their description instead of “Fit most traditional bike”. Like politician words for me.
