works brilliantly.
I needed a substrate for my multifasciatus shell dwellers that looks good, buffers the water to a high pH and is not too expensive. This ticked all the products and and continues to look good. Another unexpected upside is that it seems to not scratch the glass as easily as sand as it is made of smooth circular granules.

Better then expected!
My original intent was to get Natures ocean live sand as its best for reef tanks but i couldn't wait, This also offered next day shipping. It's been great. I see many comments about it making water cloudy but not in my case. Just make sure to place sand in tank first.Pour small amounts onto rocks or something to not move the water too much, until probably halfway where you can speed up a bit. Beautiful light color.

Great for new tanks
The media could not be loaded. Sweet up a new tank and it was recommended to use this sand. The tank cycled wonderfully and it's very easy to sift and clean. Was happy for the recommendation and would love to pass it on!

absolutely not "dustless"
Photo is taken after nine hours (!) of rinsing in a bucket.the item description claims this sand is ''dustless'' but it is not. it has a very fine, powdery dust that turns your water milk white, takes hours to rinse, and is dangerous to fish. i put about a cupful in my bare-bottom 20g nano to test it out and my damselfish started gasping for oxygen and unfortunately died. I assume the dust cloud it caused damaged his gills.I would suggest rinsing this stuff aggressively and then letting it settle for a few days in a fishless tank before exposing any fish to it.update: after several more hours of rinsing the water is still cloudy, and the surviving fish, which i moved to a quarantine tank with new water, are showing signs of skin irritation. this is honestly the worst $30 i've ever spent on this tank.
