I am a beginner and this was my first real telescope. Got it for my 20 and 10 year old daughters and they were amazed by it and took it out every night for 7 days in a row. We took it in and out of the backyard frequently so portability was a huge advantage. We were able to see the moon, Mars Jupiter, and Saturn. Once you get the hang of it is really simple to use especially with the digital features. You just need to learn when is the best time to view whatever objects you are interested in. Tripod is solid and stable. Overall, the product is well worth it.

To any potential buyer out there. Even though I had a great buying experience from the seller (Shining Star), I unfortunately have a quite horrible time nowadays with Celestron after sales support! After very few utilization of my Telescope (LCM114) within only 3 to 4 weeks, the mount attachment part with the leg has completely shattered and broke into pieces. This made my telescope unusable for the past 1 month! Knowing that I passed the initial return date, I still counted on the Celestron warranty for its products from a quality stand point, so with the help of the seller we started our journey chasing Celestron for a affordable and fair solution to my problem which is definitely related to the material quality of this scope! I raised a ticket on Celestron website without any answer from them for the past 1 week! I expected this scope to last at least a couple of years given the reputation of Celestron as one of the top brands! however, honestly the quality of the material used reminds me of the cheap telescopes that you can buy in any toy store... The experience could have been so much better if there was at least some consideration from Celestron! So my recommendation, if you look for an entry level computerized Telescope, do not pick this one, or at least ensure you live in the US not too far from Celestron main service area... and make sure you call them to ensure they will cover this type of damage.
