One thing to be aware of is that the part that is inserted into the ground is not strong enough to hammer into the ground directly. I had to make a hole first with a large chisel and hammer and then put the piece in. **Q: Do you think this could this be used around a childs playground area? Is it a rubber substance or a hard plastic?** A: Maybe a combination of both, rubber and plastic? I wouldn't think it would work very well around a child's playground. It's pretty flimsy and, therefore, not very durable. Just my opinion.
