Q: I wear a 9 consistently. i go up in shoes to a 9.5 only because i have a wide foot. 9 or 10? oh and i live in fl so i will never wear them with socks

Per the previous reviews I read before ordering, I ordered up to a size 9 because I normally wear a size 8.5 but I will wear these with socks. The size 9 that I got fits me fine but it leaves me a little room for my heel. I don't have wide feet so I can't speak to that issue.

Q: how does sizing compare to Hunter boot?

I am not familiar with Hunter boots. I got a half size bigger to wear with socks and they are perfect. They are light weight but sturdy, waterproof and have good tread. I am very happy with these shoes, I highly recommend them and will order them again.

Q: do these chemicals such as antimicrobials embedded in them?

I don't know the answer about chemicals. They are quite heavy. But unless you have extremely thin feet,(sole to top of foot) I would suggest to keep shopping. The room from the bottom of the foot, to the top is so thin, I couldn't wear them. They hurt. I trashed mine. Never had shoe made like that. Have never had this issue with any shoe. Good luck.
