Color and visibility is excellent!
From correcting text to general markup requiring red pencil, this product is the best I’ve ever purchased to achieve those issues of use. Very happy with this purchase.

Love pencils - but wanted LEAD, not RED core
It was my mistake and I paid the return shipping. I love to use pencils and these are the best. I didn’t really “get” that the core is RED, not LEAD. So it just didn’t work for me, but a great pencil, easy to hold, nice finish.

WORST red pencil
The red core on this pencil breaks CONSTANTLY regardless of the sharpened length. The red color is very nice, however. It doesn't erase very, but what red pencil does... I would advise you to go with Prismacolor if you are looking for quality red pencil.

I've compared five kinds of red pencil...
Musgrave Hermitage 510: Thin Red.In SOME ways these are good. You get a lot of color saturation, for instance. It's not wimpy pale red; it's REAL red—like with a Prismacolor. But . . . . . again, like with a Prismacolor . . . . you don't dare run it into a hand-cranked sharpener. The colored lead will crumble *bad*. I couldn't even sharpen mine with a little hand-held fixed-blade sharpener.I wound up doing the thing they show you in art school. You *very* carefully carve it, by guiding a razor blade that you're pushing with your thumb. The photo shows you what you get.I don't know what people do with their red pencils. The Musgrave seems to me unsuited to writing sentences, unless you were writing real big. Should be fine for underlining, though. I use mine for coloring little drawings. They are so good for THAT purpose, I went ahead and ordered the box of 24. (The lead is soft = you go through ’em quick.)My opinion of the eraser is: useless. Shouldn't even be on there. For what it's worth, it sucks up graphite just fine. Just not red.

Do not break constantly like Ticonderoga.
Sharpen wider for longer use.

Best red pencils
The best red pencils, just soft enough without being too soft and in my experience don't bleed through the page. Nice for underlining and marking texts and so on.
