It worked great. **Q: Does this unit display subtitles?** A: Yes it does display subtitles. It is actually a very nice player. Easy to use and set up. **Q: Will this play dvds from the australia region?** A: It should play them. It is supposed to be Multi Region. I believe this means you can change regions a limited number of times. I am not sure if it works because I have not tried any regions except the USA **Q: Are the instructions in English?** A: Yes instructions are in English. But it is really self explanatory. And the menus from the device itself (on screen) are in English but can be adjusted.
