Could you use this to slice ginger too?

Yes - you would have to first cut the ginger into chunks that fit into the slicer.

Can it also slice ginger?

It probably would if it was young ginger. Regular ginger is rather fibrous and, while this blade is very sharp, It would probably have troubles.

Is it dishwasher safe?

I believe it is, but I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher. The blade on this thing is very sharp, and things like that don't like being beaten around in the dishwasher. Quite frankly, if you are using it to slice garlic, it doesn't need much more than a rinse in hot water, as nothing is sticking to it.

Can the knife be replaced or resharpen?

To my knowledge the blade cannot be replaced or resharpened but you could ask OXO. I have had mine for a few years and never had a problem. I even use it to shave carrots, beets and brussel sprouts for salads. You just have to cut the vegetable piece to the correct size. I literally use this every time I make a salad or stir fry. It's not just for garlic! It is one of my most used kitchen tools. Easy and safe to use and to clean.

Great kitchen tool

Replacing a pampered chef garlic slicer(discontinued). This tool actually is better than PC. Paper thin slices. No waste. Every kitchen needs this!!!

Ein richtig durchdachter Knoblauchschneider! Herrlich einfach und total effektiv in der Handhabung - so macht Knobihobeln sogar Spaß ;-) Das tool ist leicht zusammensetzbar und für's Spülen mit wenigen Handgriffen wieder auseinanderzunehmen. Was mir auch gut gefällt: der Knoblauchschneider kann nach Gebrauch einfach aufgehängt werden, nichts fällt herunter und er ist jederzeit griffbereit. Ich finde nichts, was ich bemängeln könnte! Ein rundum sehr guter Küchenhelfer ☝🏻
