As I have recently taken up piano playing (using a Yamaha digital) I have been revisiting my  Mozart Complete Edition [170 CD + CD ROM ] and listened to the wonderful Piano Sonatas. It was thus how I came across an anomaly in this volume of 'The Compleat Mozart' for CD 86 of that CD collection contains the four Sonatas No. 15 to 18 inclusive, these are to be found described on pages 314 to 316 of The Complete Mozart but K. 533 Piano Sonata in F Major is incorrectly identified as No. 18 when in fact it should be No. 15. The remainder in this section should therefore follow sequentially upwards in numbering sequence. The movement descriptions are consistent with this revised numbering and I have checked by listening to performances from other sources. Mozart Complete Edition [170 CD + CD ROM

Wow! What a terrific book. I admit it...I am a Mozart bore, and have been for longer than I care to remember! However, being fairly knowledgeable re Mozart's music is one thing, but having so much information now available to compliment each and every composed piece is a real joy.In truth, I have only had this book a short time, but I have already learnt so much I had previously been entirely ignorant about. Over thirty five pounds may appear expensive for any book, but take my word for it, the same represents a bargain where this tome is concerned. Highly recommended.

If you love Mozart and want a definitive list of EVERYTHING he wrote, this is it, the book you are looking for! It presents a complete listing in English of all his works with Köchel (K) numbers, even some iffy ones that daddy Leopold may have written. Never mind the CD catalogs you have been relying on. They are incomplete and get obsolete every year. This book is the definitive list in English.

Definitive guide to the masters work. Helps the listener understand what when on behind it and clears up a lot of preconceptions. Also for collectors the confusion around some K numbers and double references. There's a couple for error int the Kochel list re key designations but these are correct on the detail page.
