So far I've made body wash and shampoo, and it works well. Lathers up and cleans beautifully, and it doesn't dry my skin the way my former body washes have. I have added additional ingredients depending on what I was making, and it doesn't lose it's integrity. If you want to make it thicker, like I did, use xanthan gum or guar gum (dissolve in glycerin first). Or you can use a little salt, but I haven't tried that yet. I really love this Castile soap. It's cheaper than Bronner's but every bit just as good. My 6-month-old has extremely sensitive skin. She can't tolerate detergents (like me...Not even "gentle" unscented aveeno products or unscented wipes). I used a tablespoon of this soap in a homemade baby wipe solution and have been using it to bathe her (hair too) for a week now. It's just wonderful! Compared to dr bronners, this soap is much less drying (I noticed this on my own hands)! Her diaper rash is clearing up beautifully and she's stopped scratching at her head and a few patches of eczema she had on her body. The soap is thin but a little goes a long way on a washcloth!
