Decent quality. Little vent holes on the side are great for venting off your frustration when when the damn dinosaurs keep escaping from the park. The string keeps you from reaching back to pick up your fallen hat like Indiana Jones which is potentially a life saver, so 10 points griffindor.Also very stylish enough that if you pair with an Australian accent and say things like " Yeah, I'm a thrill seeker, but crikey, education's the most important thing." you might be mistaken for Steve Irwin.. or maybe is it that other crocodile guy...

I purchased this right before my 2 week trip to Europe and was very very usefulPROS.I personally LOVED the look of the hat. The colour was relatively universal, and it really added to the "summer" look. The strap on the hat proved useful in my brief stay in Berlin when the winds picked up a little more than expected. This hat also provided GREAT sun protection. Last but not least, the price was great!CONS.Due to the material of the hat, it is important to wash it after extensive use, else it can start to smell (as expected). I've also found that the material isn't as breathable as I thought it would be.Overall great product and would surely buy it again. Got lots a great compliments from my friends who saw the hat as well. I often see my mom using it while she's out in the garden, so it clearly has multiple purposes!

I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before making a decision on a boonie hat. My head is 23 1/4 inches around the biggest part (0.5-1” above the ear). Most boonies on Amazon go as large as 24" but that’s at max and they mention room for human error in production so you could end up with a hat that leaves rings around your forehead and a headache. I ordered the navy blue and it fits nice. It’s not loose and sitting on my ears and I don’t have to yank down from both sides to get it on. There is chin string but the circumference is non adjustable even by pulling the string. That’s fine for my head but a warning for people with smaller heads than mine that it may fall lower than what you’d like. It comes in an envelope and is pretty wrinkled. I put it in the tub with very hot water and shaped it and smoothed out the wrinkles. I let it sit in the empty tub to dry. The only way to hang it would be by the chin strap and I believe that would misshape it again. Overall 5 stars from a guy with 23 1/4” head.

Size fits most without any weird stitching or folds to crease your head. Unfortunately, it's way too thin and light - almost like as kids play dress up kinda thing and light. Comparing it to an older boonie hat that has stood the test of time (thick, robust, strong, well worn but still intact) this one may or may not last a summer or two (time will tell). At this point, it will be used for the kids to go to the park as it's embarassing to call it a boonie hat (copies the style but lacks the substance).

Like: like weight, cool and breathable, strong fabric. Ideal for bush walking, hiking, fishing or bird watching.Dislike: no inner adjustable inner band help firmly fit to head and not water resistant.
