Question 1

I was looking on the Singer website and it says Singer 4432.  I come to Amazon and I see Singer 5532.  Are they the same machine?

This is what my research on the 3 different machines has turned up:The 4423 - 1) Automatic Pressure Foot control, 2) 5mm stitch width, and 3) it has 23 different stitch selections.The 4432 - 1) Manual Pressure Foot control, 2) 6mm stitch width, and 3) it has 32 different stitch selections.The 5532 - 1) Automatic Pressure Foot control, 2) 5mm stitch width, and 3) it has 32 different stitch selections.So, the 4432 is cheaper than the 4423, because of the lack of Auto Pressure Foot control. Even though you get more stitch choices.Conversely, the 5532 is the most expensive, because it gives you Auto Pressure Foot control and 32 different stitch choices. If you are willing to put up with manually adjusting the Pressure Foot on the 4432 every time you change fabric thickness, then Singer gives you an additional 1MM of stitch width (6mm rather than 5mm) and a lower price.I hope this helps you make your best selection.

Can I use a  heavy thread #60 nylon bond,  I need to make a patio cushions and this what I need to use this thread for....thanks!

This thread may be too thick for use in the 5532.  There may not be sufficient clearance in the hook/race to allow the thread to pass without disrupting the bobbin case.

Question 4

I make dog collars and sew through heavy nylon webbing quite regularly.  Can this machine go through 2 layers of heavy nylon webbing?

Hi Sandy,  I have never gone through two levels of nylon webbing, but it is a pretty heavy duty machince.  It has been ebtremely durable and well powered.  Doubling over the bottom of jeans wasn't a big deal for it, so i would think it would, I just don't know for sure. Hope this helps
