Can you take this on a plane in checked baggage?

yes it is possible , I put this corkscrew and two refiils inside in a checked case , TSA did not open my case. They came intact to Brazil,

Do you have to remove the foil first?

Yes you need to remove the foil. There is a cutter provided with cork pop for that purpose.

Can you check it in baggage on a flight?

mine with two refills came safe to Brazil in checked baggage without TSA inpection.

We just ordered another but this one is very hard to insert into cork. Our first one was much easier . Have you changed the needle ?
