Ultralight Food Bag Hanging System - Includes a Waterproof Bear Bag, Pulley System with Paracord Nylon Ropes & Carabiners, Rock Sok, and Instructions

Works as described. Just came back from 8 days in the backcountry, great system.

The bottom strap broke off, operator error, so do not try to hang that way or another bag from it. Overall it is very easy to hang. I hav not tested the rain proof part if it yet. Exactly what I needed.

If you're like me, when you look at what's included in this package you think "I could do that for $5". And that's true. But this was just the right amount of paracord and the little bag worked so well to hold some rocks and throw - I was really happy with the purchase. Took it into Glacier natnl park for a few nights and it hefted the enclosed bag plus two others - probably 15 pounds total - up up and away from the bears. The double-carabiner system was also really nice as a pulley set up and having some waterproof instructions was great vs. having to figure it out in the fading light as you try to get dinner ready. Efficient, packs small, does the job. I wish I could say that about all of my gear.

Light, durable, works well

I purchased this for a backpacking trip I took to the highest peak in Utah. I really liked how light-weight this food bag is. Compared to other hanging bags I've had, you hardly feel like you're carrying anything additional. It comes with everything you need including a couple of carabiners and bright colored cordage to keep you from accidentally tripping over it. The bag has instructions on how to rig it up as a pulley system, though I didn't bother with that and just hoisted it up. Some cons for this system is that it's just a nylon bag so it's not going to keep your food dry if it should rain. We had dehydrated meals and dry weather so it wasn't an issue but that's something to keep under consideration. The other thing that was a challenge was that it was smaller than I was expecting and so not all of our food fit in the bag for our 3 day trip (3 people). Luckily with the food we'd already eaten our first day, we were barely able to get the rest in but it was pretty tight. Again, this is nylon so if a bear were to get ahold of it, it wouldn't keep them from getting the food inside but if hung correctly that shouldn't be an issue. Overall, this was a good purchase for me. If you take into account that it's not waterproof and the size of the bag, it should do what you need it to.
