Strong with great flavor
I love these. I initially purchased them while looking for an equivalent product to sen-sen for my mom, who misses sen-sen since they were discontinued. These aren't quite the same, but now I'm hooked on them. They really pack a punch, and the combination of menthol and licorice really works well together. Even the kids,who think Potter's licorice/menthol bits taste like nyquil, think these are great. "These don't taste like niquil, like the other ones do" - the kids

The menthol adds "some mint flavor" to the Licorice flavor!
I first bought plain Barkleys Black Licorice Pellets. The taste was good, but I thought that if I could have the same type of Licorice Pellets with a small mint flavor, that would be better. Therefore, I decided to also buy the Barkley Licorice Pellets with the added Menthol. The taste is better, but it seems a little "stronger" (I am more familiar with the French Licorice Cachous, which the taste is "more subtle".

I enjoy these and they are not full of sugar. If it's sugar you want don't get these as they are the flavor intensely

Like Sen Sen candies but in a can
I’ve been trying lots of hard licorice candies in search of a replacement for the Sen Sens of my youth. Barkleys comes closest in taste and size. I have tried other varieties and liked the menthol in particular.

I'm on the hunt for a candy that is similar to Sen-Sen. I hate black licorice but love Sen-Sen. I actually just finished an old pack, so the taste was fresh in my mind for comparison. This has reviews saying it was very close, so decided to try it. This "mint" (menthol/licorice) may look the part, and consistency is similar, but the taste is awful. So it failed and my hunt will continue. This is probably good for those who like straight and strong black licorice though.
