The smart lock that does it all!
I started looking for smart door locks for our new place after getting tired of fumbling with different keys for the front and garage door locks. I could have gotten the locks rekeyed, but I decided to install smart locks on the two doors and get rid of keys altogether. After getting used to fingerprints to unlock and log into most apps on my phone, I just couldn't get myself to buy a smart lock without fingerprint support. The Eufy touch lock seemed to be one of few fingerprint smart locks out there backed by a well known brand, but it didn't come with wifi support. I heard the wifi version was coming, so I decided to wait a couple of months and finally took delivery of the updated locks last week. The locks are pretty easy to install, and come with good instructions and well labeled/organized parts. The locks took about 15 mins each to install. The app is also pretty easy to set up, and I can log into the app with fingerprints on my android phone. The one setup quirk I had to deal with is that selecting the "touch lock with wifi" when adding a new lock to the app didn't work. The QR code scan wasn't doing anything. I noticed that the product code on the lock was not 8520, but 8510, which is the same code as the non wifi Eufy touch lock, so I decided to add the non wifi touch lock to the app. This time, the QR code worked, and I was able to add the included wifi bridge separately and pair it with the lock. This should be good news for those of you who have the regular touch lock, as it indicates that you will be able to add Wifi support when/if Eufy starts selling the wifi bridge separately. I programmed each lock to unlock with three different fingerprints, and have been very happy with the responsiveness of the fingerprint scanner. It seems to be faster than the under screen fingerprint scanner on my Samsung Note 10+. The unlocking process with fingerprints is extremely quick and seamless. I also added my wife as a separate user, so she was also able to register her fingerprints with each lock. Each user also gets to select a 4 to 8 digit pin code (different code for each user). The app lets you customize a lot of things, including auto lock functionality (lock after duration, auto lock schedule with start/end time), wrong attempt timeouts, lock sounds, scramble pass code (add random numbers before and after your actual pin to hide it from prying eyes), etc. I've only had the locks for a few hours, but I have been very pleased with how well they work so far. The only minor annoyance is that one wifi bridge cannot connect to more than one lock, so if you have two locks like I do, you will have to have two wifi bridges operational. It would have been nice if the wifi bridges supported multiple locks, but it's not a deal breaker.

Great Lock
NO HUB OR GATEWAY NEEDED. The lock was simple to install. The one issue I had was to get it to connect to the Wi-Fi, I had to power it up, not in the door, closer to my router. It seemed that the location that I was installing the lock was too far from the router, it would not connect to my router. When I took the lock off the door and laid it on the kitchen counter, near my router, it connected. Then I took it back out to my walk-in garage door, installed the lock and it connects to my Wi-Fi, go figure. So if you are having trouble with the initial setup and the lock does not connect to your Wi-Fi, remove it and move it close to your router and get it to connect, don't complete the setup at this point, stop as soon as it connects to your Wi-Fi then put it back in your door and finish the setup. Not sure what the issue was, but now it connects to the Wi-Fi. Everything works great. Fingerprint works, put mine and my wife's fingerprint in, works. Codes work. Remote access works, drove several blocks from my house, had the wife stand at the lock and observe, and I was able to lock and unlock the lock. Connected the app, or lock, to Alexa and it works. You need to open your Alexa app and get the settings, set. I have, had, another lock, but you need a hub located within 10 feet of the lock. This lock, no hub.

LOVE this product. Installed on one home 3 years ago and now bought another for another new home just purchased. Love its functionality and very long lasting battery life.

Great Smart Lock, But Don’t Rely on Auto-Lock
Switched to this after my August lock gave me endless connection issues. Wi-Fi barely worked, so remote unlocking was a no-go—I had to add people as guests in the app instead, which was super annoying. First off, this Eufy lock actually stays connected, which is already a massive improvement. But if auto-locking is a dealbreaker for you, be warned. Unlike August, which used a door sensor to lock perfectly every time, Eufy relies on some “geomagnetic” detection (whatever that means). Most of the time, it works fine, but if you close the door too softly, sometimes it just doesn’t lock. The auto-lock timer in the app is also unpredictable—it’ll lock sometimes, but other times, it stays unlocked all night. No clue why. The keypad is a little too sensitive—especially in cold weather, where it sometimes double-presses numbers. The fingerprint scanner is fast, but if you don’t place your finger just right, it might take two tries. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. One annoying issue—sometimes the lock won’t disengage. If your door bolt is pressed too firmly against the frame, it throws an error, and you have to pull or push the door a little before unlocking. Battery life? It’s fine. Cool that it’s rechargeable, but you can’t just swap the batteries—you have to wait for them to charge. Would be great if Eufy included a second battery for easy swaps. Bottom line: If you’re used to smart home automation and expect flawless auto-locking every single time, this might not be for you. But if you just want a solid, stylish smart lock with great remote access and connectivity, this does the job.

Cannot recommend. Read the review before you choose to buy.
Buyer beware. Buy these eufy locks for manual use or bluetooh use only. The Wi-fi in these locks constantly lose connection with your network and the phone app. The phone app constantly hangs for can't connect to the lock, though you may be able to lock and unlock it over wifi. When researching the Internet, this has been a known problem for years. The eufy support is responsive enough, however, they have no fix and there doesn't appear to be a fix in sight. Easy to install, and when it works it's great. It just doesn't work, for anybody, consistently for for very long. You will see the image I have attached, more than you will be able to use the locks over wifi. Two stars. One because it is very easy to install and one because the physical deadbolt works. If you're looking to use and control this over Wi-Fi, look elsewhere. **Update 8/6/25** Updating review to update rating from 2 to 3 stars as the eufy technical team continues to try to resolve the issues including releasing new firmware that has improved connectivity. I will continue to update the review based on the long-term effectiveness of the bug fixes. **Update 8/7/25** Firmware bug fix has be me up overnight. That has never happened before so I'm going from 3 to 4 stars. Excellent technical support response. Maybe it wasn't ready for Wi-Fi 7. But I'm happy to be able to now use wi-fi. If this remains stable for a few months, I'll happily edit one more time to give it 5 stars. **Final Update 8/8/25** Connectivity over Wi-Fi lost again. Yet the $7 Wi-Fi Lightbulb above the door has remained connecting and functional for over a year. I'm not going to factory reset and try again and wait for more fixes or upload more logs. I'm going to look for an alternative product. I cannot recommend and leave this with 1-star. Now I wonder if I'll be able to rely on eufy's security cameras.

Perfect form and function! Flawless thus far!
So I purchased the Eufy Smartlock Touch with WiFi during the presale offered and the installation went pretty smooth with a couple of individual problems that I’ll go over. 1.) I didn’t measure the spacer. Turns out I didn’t need it in there as it made the keypad side tweak just a bit. When measuring it looked like it needed it. If yours doesn’t fit exact or to your liking simply remove the spacer. 2.) Had to bore out the deadbolt hole a little wider. Not sure if the door I have isn’t standard deadbolt size but it needed to be I think 7/8". Once all of that was finished the installation went quick I’d say ten minutes or less. To all the negative reviews I’ve seen being published about the fingerprint being the selling point and it failing miserably… No idea why everyone is publishing that. I have only been using the product for a week but have YET to have a fingerprint error or problem when using the correct print. I have tried to access it with my other hand and other fingers and errors will occur so it’s not a false positive every time I’ve accessed. But really unsure on why so many publications are scoring it low for this reason. Setting up the WiFi bridge/extender was easy as well. Note: you will get a connection error when you test it if your phone has a VPN turned on… oops. Unboxing: 10/10. Each box is organized and numbered so you know exactly what step comes next. I always forget to go through the installation video in the app first. I used the manual because I’m old school and it worked out just fine. Installation: 10/10 easy installation for most people (my situation called for a couple of weird unique obstacles). If you lock in your two long bolts to secure both sides to each other and it doesn’t fit right, try removing the spacer. Super easy test and you’ll be happy both sides are perfectly flush. Programming and usage: 10/10. Extremely simple setup that walks you through each step. No bugs or errors thus far in week 1. Code works 10/10 attempts. Fingerprint 10/10 attempts. Phone access: 10/10 attempts. One small thing, you need to be pretty close to your door if you don’t have the WiFi bridge or WiFi version for you to be able to open the lock with your phone. Look/Aesthetics: 10/10. This thing is clean. It makes my ghetto garage door look like it’s housing something top secret. I’m really happy it’s rated IP65 because rain sometimes gets under the overhang on that side of our house. Overall: 10/10. Easy to setup, looks great, works great. Will update in a month/few months/year. If you have any questions feel free to reply! Would love to answer any that I can and make your installation as easy as it was for me!

An Excellent Must Have!!
I have always wanted to get a smart lock so I wouldn't have to deal with keys at all and neverhave to worry about getting locked out of the house. I recently stayed at a luxury condo at an Airbnb and it had a Yale pin pad smart lock. It was amazing not having to use keys so I decided to finally just go buy one. I researched for hours to find the best smart lock for me, and the Eufy smart lock hands down won. I loved all the features especially the fine print reader. They have a newer model with built in wifi, but this one was much cheaper and since it came with the bridge it does everything the newer model does- but more! With the bridge it had a SD card slot that can record video with Eufy security cameras. I love that so your not having to pay for a monthly subscription for cloud storage. It also acts as a speaker for Eufy doorbell. My phone has a finger print reader which I always use, it takes a second or two to recognize and unlock so I was wondering if this would be the same, or slower. That's why I liked that it also has pinafore for a code, or even an actual key if the batteries happen to die. It does have a USB jack on the bottom so if the battery dies you can hook up a power bank to it. I was pleasantly surprised that the finger print reader works extremely well and fast! It gets it right the first time every time and works almost instantly. I love it!! I am working on making my whole house a smart home, I have all the main rooms completed so I love that using the lock can trigger smart home routines to say turn on all the lights and turn TV on. The Eufy lock looks and works better than the Yale lock on the condo that is more expensive. I love literally everything about it from the design, build quality and feel, and the best part is no more keys!!! It's very cool that it comes with extra security-it has an extra sturdy door latch that screws in deeply to the door casing and wall to make it a lot harder for someone to push the door in. Another favorite feature that I almost forgot to mention is the autolock feature! You can set the timer for 1 seconds to 3 minutes upon closing the door to when it locks. I have it set to 1 second and is perfect. It's nice that it has a door open/closed sensor built in- most smart locks either don't have it or is an extra sensor to attach to the door. That's great because it will only lock if the door is fully closed and will let you know if the door is not securely closed. It was very easy to install. I can't say enough good things about it. It was 100% worth the money! If you have been thinking about it but debating on if it would actually be worth it- the answer is yes yes yes get it! Lol You'll be so happy you did!
