Do I see meal worms? These are really bad for hedgehogs!

Hedgehogs can travel 2 km in one night which means they are visiting many gardens. If everyone is feeding a few mealworms to their visitors then one hedgehog may be eating an awful lot of mealworms. Cat biscuits and fresh water is the best option, they will still search out bugs in your gardens. 30 years ago we fed them bread and milk, they will eat it beacause they are scavengers and don’t know they are lactose intolerant....

How do you prevent rats from eating the hedgehog food?

You can't really stop it, but the best way is only out out a small amount, and put it out just before it gets disk when the hogs will be about. If there's any left in the morning make sure you take it away. And make sure the tub is always shut properly! Leaving a bowl of food out all the time will encourage the rats, and the hedgehogs won't eat it during the day anyway.

How long does this product last once opened. I dont see a use by date and my husband open this mid wintrr

Hi. I opened mine in the winter and the hogs have happily just finished it off now. As long as the lid has been closed and it hasn’t got soggy it will be fine. I keep mine in the greenhouse.

Are the pellets semi moist or completely dry?

They are quite dry but soft. Can't describe as a hard completely dry pellet. Only been putting out for the last 6 days,found on second night and dish been emptied daily since.
