Ear Spray for Swimmers Ear

This works really well. I have an ear infection. No pain, but itchy ear canal and loss of hearing in that ear. Also numbness down from my ear to my neck from block sinus. Ear is super tingly after each application, but within a short while after first use I could feel a clearing of my sinus. Three days later and the numbness is almost gone, ear isn't itchy and my hearing is back to about 80%. I reckon in another day or so, should be back to normal.

I had been prescribed Canesten for a fungal infection in my ear - but found it unpleasant to use as it made my ear feel very blocked. Searching for alternatives, I came across this - it is described as having both antimicrobial and antifungal effects. I found it amazing. The day after using one spray at night, my ear felt very much clearer. I continued using a combination of Canesten some days - and every few days using a spray of Otinova. When the ear cleaning lady looked today, she was astonished - said my ear was completely clear of fungus. However, a note of caution - it has a drying effect (it dries up all the gunk) - so I think it could make the ear too dry if used repeatedly - I think probably using sparingly is best. It contains aluminium acetate, aluminium acetotartrate, acetic acid, and water - pH 2.5

I ordered mine in September of 2025 and the use by date (see photos) is December 2026. With 15ml contained there is quite a bit of liquid to use, as needed. But please read the enclosed instructions, they are most helpful when using. Both of my ears were irritated and a little sore. So, lying to one side I would, after shaking the container, apply one spray in one ear AND remain in that head tilted / lying position for a good few minutes. When I then sat upright I immediately, and gently, wipe away the excess of spray that will run to the outer edge of that ear. That is very important to do and will very much help to prevent excessive dryness and crusting. My wife noted that excessive white crystals were related to the excess amounts of spray accumulating in the outer ear that needed to be gently wiped away. I waited a couple of minutes longer and then repeated to the other side. Within a few days both of my ears feel much better and the irritation has stopped. This spray does indeed dry things up within the ear, part of the healing process I believe. But I limited my use to one spray in each and twice a day, certainly not using two sprays. Also I noted it being most important, as noted, to dry up with a clean tissue any drops of excess fluid that would leak from the ear that has been sprayed once you lift your head upright. The atomiser type spray does give out a large dose of fluid, hence my concerns of using more than one spray at a time. For my needs this has worked alright, but I can understand how this could excessively dry out your ears if caution is not applied. I hope this has been helpful.

Came back from holiday and after much pool and sea time I started to feel ear ache setting in. It’s a long time since I’ve suffered anything like this but I was struggling with such a blocked ear. Also unable to refrain from fiddling trying to clear it. My wife got on to me to look for some medication. I used this only once and it cleared the problem. Read the instructions and look at the active contents.

Works as expected, does have a strong smell but effective. If you have moisture in the ear when used it will crystallise. Clean ear before each use to not allow the crystalisation to build up.

Great product, since using this I haven’t had any ear infections. I don’t need it every day but maybe once a week if my ears are feeling itchy, it solved the issue

Didn’t work at all, ended up getting an antibiotic ear ointment from one of the online pharmacies that sorted my ears out. This did nothing don’t waste your money.
