Are these lights UL approved to ensure their safety?

Are these UL tested and approved?

No. These items meet European CE standards for construction, electrical safety, and EMI/RFI emissions and susceptibility. They also meets FCC certification requirements for use in the US. The Eufy site includes the EU Declaration of Conformity that lists the standards and directives that are met by these lights. In today's world, IEC, CE, and UL standards establish electrical safety and testing requirements; this makes international sales easier. While UL approval guarantees that the minimum compliance to standards has been met, a lack of UL approval does not necessarily mean the opposite. Many UL certification standards (such as their UL 60335 series for appliances) are international standards that are based upon or include endorsements of European standards. Most electrical items made in the US also meet CE requirements because that's also generally acceptable anywhere in the world, including the US. So lack of a UL stamp on a product does not necessarily mean it's an unsafe POS. Look for the CE and FCC designations also.

Is this night light a bright "white white" or does it have a warm yellowish/orange hue?

The color temperature is on the warmer side, so more orange-yellow. It's honestly less jarring walking into a dark environment. At first I was disappointed compared to my existing cooler lights, but the warmer temperature has grown on me.

In what distance does it sense someone's motion? I wonder if it will detect my tossing and turning in the bed and light up for nothing.

This is not motion sensor. It senses light and turns on when there is low light. So at night time it will be on all the time when lights are off. It will turn off when you turn on the light. I also thought it was motion sensor light when I bought it but it is not.
