DUNLOP 38120125411 Alto Saxophone Ligature (38120125401)

11-56 set.
Feel - one of the best feeling strings around, I can only compare them to DR tire fit, which feel very good under finger. They don't feel 'greasy' or coated, and for this I would rate them a 5.They stay nice and tight, even when detuned.Longetivity - They don't last as long as I would like, probably less than Ernie Ball slinky but longer than Daddario. It's hard to pin point exactly how long as is subjective per player and conditions.Sound - well balanced and bright without being shrill and annoying. Low ends are very good. Dull off fairly quickly as per longetivity.I used the 11-56 set for tuning to drop B on a 25.5" length neck. 12-56 I'd a better size set but Dunlop don't make them, however these handled it very well and I will definately use again. However, value for money is a little down as they 'dull off' and don't last as long as I'd like them too.Overall rating - 4 starts.

Surprisingly good
I was just going for whatever the least expensive strings I could find, and these turned out to be really quite good! I usually use D'Addarios and occasionally Ernie Balls, but these have been a very pleasant surprise.

Bad quality control
The strings arrived in a nice package with clear information about the product. Some information about string tension would have been appreciated but it's not the end of the world.Unfortunately, the high-E (090) after a few hours of use, had a problem. The "knot" at the ball's end of the string got undone. I tried to fix the "knot" but the string broke. Sign of bad quality control. Never had this type of problem with other brands.Sound-wise, they are good strings. Not exceptionally good but at the same level of other brands.

good for the money
Apart from a round wound jazz set, I think this set of strings is the only 7 set on Amazon that offers the low B on a 60 gauge. The rest on sale tend to be lighter and depending on your opinion and how you have your 7 set up, a heavier guage is what you may require. The strings sound excellent fresh on my two 7's, I have a SC607b modded with a blackout in the bridge and a Blackjack C7 ATX, They take to drop tunning down to about G on the SC607b, any lower n the fact that that guitar is not set up for mega low tunnings i.e. E means I can't comment on what they would sound like and feel on such low tunings. My grape with these is that after about 7 to 10 days I feel I need to change them, now this is down to my personal preference of course but I really don't play on them 24/7. However for a price of £5.99 delivered, there is really little to complain about here.

Awesome for drop tuning and keeping a brightish tone
These are a really nice combination of low and nasty and bright and crunchy. That's all I needed to know that these were the strings I was looking for. It was my only hope. Bad jokes aside, these are awesome and great value. Mean as hell dropped and crunchy and a lovely bowl of crunchy nut on a sunny morning. Get them.
