There are several types of pocket watches. One is the open faced pocket watch, which means it has no protective cover over the face.There are "full hunter" pocket watches which have a protective cover which completely covers the watch face, and must be opened to view the time. This is the kind you see in westerns where the nervous station master checks the time to see when the train carrying the gold shipment is arriving.A "half hunter" pocket watch also has a protective cover over the face, but has a hole in the center through which you can see the hands and tell the time without opening the cover. Most of the time, this hole has a glass or plastic lens.A "double hunter" pocket watch has a cover on the front and a cover on the back, both of which are opened together with a single depression of the watch stem. Some people prefer double hunter watches because you can stand the pocket watch upright on a flat surface when both covers are open. Some double hunter watches have a hole in the front cover through which you can see the time, and some don't. Most don't.This product is a double hunter pocket watch, and it does not have a hole in the front cover.This is also a skeleton watch. A lot of people like skeleton watches because you can see the inner workings of the watch as it operates. I like these, too. The one hazard of a skeleton watch, though, is the hands of the watch can blend into the works behind them if the manufacturer isn't thoughtful, making it very difficult to read the time.I have a few skeleton watches with this problem. The manufacturers made the hands too thin, or too short, or both.You don't have that problem with this watch. The hands are thick enough, and long enough, to easily read the time.When both covers are opened, this watch can sit upright on a flat surface.The numerals are gold colored against a black dial with white pips. The pips do not correspond to minutes. There are pips to indicate the five minute mark, and arrow pips to indicate the halfway point between the five minute pips. I don't recall ever seeing this kind of setup on a dial before.The second, minute, and hour hands are white.This setup is both beautiful and easily read.It is hand wound, which I prefer over battery operated watches, and keeps good time. If you expect the kind of time keeping precision of your smartphone's GPS satellite-linked timepiece, you are being extremely unrealistic.Prices on Amazon seem to be extremely fluid. This watch cost me $19.99 with no shipping cost. Well worth it.

Ran about a month now nothing. Doesn't appear broken but refuses to run.

For the money, this is a beautiful watch. Don't expect such a cheap watch to function like a high end one and you won't be disappointed.

Arrived on time and works properly. It looks nicer in peron than in the picture.

Only complaint is that when you click to open and check the time, both sides open up
