Excellent product: can't go wrong with Anker
The media could not be loaded. Excellent build and quality, such a nice USB-C to A adapter cable is worth a big chunk of the price on its own.Easy to install the SSD, performance is as fast as expected (~1000 MBps read/write) and, despite having little contact area, the case seems to dissipate some heat of the drive. Still needs care when writing for very extended amounts of time at max speed, but so do most enclosures. Note: double-sided drives will not fit in this enclosure.Regarding portability, I was inclined to go for other brands with toolless enclosures, but the whole package becomes extremely portable with the included pouch. You can fit the enclosure, the cable, included mini screwdriver and spare screw and don't even notice it's all there. It would have been nice if the pouch had a way to close it or at least secure the contents, but otherwise it's great.Overall, very happy with the purchase and price-quality ratio (especially when compared to other brands' enclosures). Would definitely recommend it.

Very Nice Product
This adapter seems very solid and nicely made. It was very easy to install an M.2 2230 size (very short) drive. Just open the case, plug in the drive and insert the screw (provided) to lock it down. Close it up and that's it. Took about a minute. The dual USB cable supports USB-A or -C connections making it easy to connect to new or older systems.I connected it to my laptop, drive was detected and came up instantly. Very fast and no issues at all. This was to recover some files on a failed laptop making for a very quick recovery.Because of the size and speed this can support, I may start using these for external backups.

Works as expected
I use this enclosure with an SSD which I took out as I upgraded the storage of my laptop. I use it to store music. So far no issues. It works well with both USB plugs. The case feels sturdy and is easy to open. The little fabric bag is nice, but storing the cable could have been solved a little better. Not a big deal for me. I like that the cable is short and that it is replaceable. It plugs via USB-C into the enclosure. Though, I advise doing proper research when buying a replacement cable, as the USB-C standard is quite a mess.

PERFECT. Works exactly as it should, good quality, and USB 3.1 fast!
I bought this m.2 adapter in December 2021. Writing this review in July 2022, so after about 8 months of use. This was purchased to have on hand to be able to read and write to M.2 NVE and SATA drives pulled from laptops. I haven't found a drive that this doesn't work with, it's easy to get the drives in (and out) and copying data is super fast when connected to USB-C / 3.1. I even tried with a bitlocked drive. Using the recovery key had data being copied to a replacement laptop with ease.

Great compromise of speed and size
TL/DR -Good: Fast transfer, Compact, Versatile.Notes: Gets warm, transfer speed caps at USB 3.1 (~1 GB/s).Bad: Could not get to connect to Samsung Note 10.I ordered two of these and installed a 1TB Samsung 970evo in each. Instillation was a snap, just double check you have the orientation correct when you insert the drive. I noticed that if you have it upside down it will slide about half way in without resistance and with a little extra force you could probably get it to go to far and get stuck. The drives perform quite well though as some have mentioned they can get warm when using them a lot, this is very similar to the heat put out by high speed thumb drives.Connectivity is simple, they will plug into virtually any USB on a PC and work just fine. Anker states universal compatibility but I was not able to get my Samsung note 10 to connect (will update if this changes).Although these drives will connect to Thunderbolt 3 when I benchmarked it the speed was the same as USB 3.1 this was a bit disappointing but nothing else on the market is really faster so not really a loss. The transfer speed on this was my primary reason for giving it a shot. These are about twice as fast as a thumb drive and take twice as long before they begin to throttle down from heat buildup. Subjectively I would say these are four times faster than thumb drives. As a final note, one of my drives had some issues connecting while I was benchmarking and testing the drives. Haven't had the issue again but will update if this becomes a problem.

Makes for a fantastic external drive
I bought this after I realized that my then laptop only had room for 1 nvme. I had planned to use it to clone my drive over, but ended up trying it out with the nvme drive through a USB C port. I was so surprised at the performance I left it that way and could even reliably play games off of it. I'm sure it isn't as good as a normal installation, but it allowed me to use both drives instead of sacrificing 500 GB of space. The metal is very sturdy and the installation process was easy (except for losing the screw but that was my fault).

Slim, good chip inside, great cable - what's not to like?
I'm a fan of Ankers products, particularly their iPhone cables. Everything seems very well designed and they definitely stand behind their products. When shopping for an enclosure I wanted something with the latest bridge controller chip, and that was a good size (compact). It also had to be good at dissipating heat which if you do your research is something to consider as the chips do run hot when doing large transfers. During the large transfer I needed it for (2TB Samsung) the enclosure did get very hot and the transer speed did drop from about 600 MB/s to 250 MB/s, but I believe that is intentional from the chip and is designed to protect the memory. So no complaints there.Easy to install and I'm glad I paid the small premium to protect my $600 memory chip. And the cable is excellent - that alone is worth the premium. It was money well spent IMO even though I was tempted with the cheaper alternatives.I'm still a fan of Anker as this product did not let me down. Keep up the good work!!
