Challenging
As usual, John Perkins challenges evangelical Christians to become community activist. It is a good book for supervised ministry classes.

Conviction
I recently heard Dr Perkins speak in Philadelphia. He stated we tend to villify the poor and recent experience has taught me the truth of his words. This book is insightful with real solutions toward reconciliation and helping those not only trapped in poverty but the poverty mindset.

Read the WHOLE book, all the way to the end.
I understand his exposition of justice and mercy. It is bible based. His 3R words of relocation, reconciliation, redistribution. Although i agree with his writing, the word redistribution is misleading. His definition is different than how people understand that word. He needs to come up with a better, more descriptive word.
