Can this be adjusted/modified to fit?** A: The cross bar that you would need to modify has the 'click into place buttons' on the end. If you shorten the cross bar you would end up cutting one of those off. Now you could do that but then you would have to secure that side in a different manner OR you could get a wooden dowel that would fit tight. My concern about a handicap door would be that it could stick out far enough to restrict the opening of the door if there is a wall close to door opening.
