Fantastic full-height boot, Fits well, supportive, and durable, with no chafing at boot top
Fantastic boot!Bought these for my daughter, who likes full-height boots while hiking for the ankle support, and for their anti-bug capabilities. The top of the leg on this boot has an Anti-chafe soft leather collar, which works well to alleviate discomfort where it rubs your leg. Steel toe protects your toes, and the ankle support is excellent. Note: due to the construction and height of the boot, expect to have to break them in gradually over several weeks: these are not buy-and-wear boots suitable for an immediate long hike. You will need to break them in gradually. Also, you should learn a boot knot suitable for round laces, or simply double-knot the round laces: they have less friction than flat laces, and will loosen over a day of walking without a more substantial knot.

Good-looking but my feet are in hell
When these boots first arrived, I tried them on and walked around a bit to see how comfortable they were. They seemed alright. I felt like my feet and toes had enough space. That was before I put them to real use. Once I was in these for 8 hours a day, I realized how truly uncomfortable they were. There is leather on the outside, then there is a softer material on the inside that's supposed to provide a barrier between your foot and the stiffer leather. Well, the material on the inside that is touching the side of your pinky toe and big toe is thin. I can feel the stiff leather on the outside protruding inwards, causing chafing and calluses. These boots are really painful to my feet and it feels cramped. Maybe I should've ordered a wide size, but, as I said earlier, my feet felt fine before actual use.I have only worn these for three days to work but I'm already apprehensive about wearing these boots any more. I'm on my feet most of the time at work and steel toes are required for my job. I hope these boots get more comfortable over time. If not, my rating won't change. I am going to add orthotic inserts and maybe try to increase the size of the toe box by using a tennis ball to stretch the inside of the boot. And I also have to deal with the thin material on the inside of the boot. Maybe I'll just wear thicker socks. I will provide an update after these adjustments are made and the boots are worn for a while.UPDATE (Sept. 20, 2018):After my first 3 days of wearing these, I decided to wear thick wool socks to make shoe a bit bigger. I did this for 2 days. Then I went back to wearing them with normal socks. I was wowed at how they felt significantly more comfortable. I am giving them 3 stars now. I wish I could go higher but today, I discovered that my right sock had a hole in it. When I put the sock on, the hole is located in the area where the side of my big toe is. That part of my foot rubs up against the inside of the shoe and has a callus. Most of the time, the pain in my feet is not noticeable while wearing these. If it is, then it's most likely my toes. I don't know if it's the steel toe cap that is contributing to the pain but most likely.P.S. Bought these for $90. Have seen them being sold as high as $150. Not worth it at either of the prices.

Order .5-1 size up
I'm a 6.5 in Converse, I have slightly wide feet as well but normal Converse fit fine. I bought the 6.5 Wides to be safe, and it felt pretty tight by my toes; I tried walking in them for a bit but it didn't help. I returned them and got a 7W and they fit much better. They still feel a little tight but it's more like a sturdy/secure tight than an uncomfortable tight.

Nice, but price increased by a lot.
Really like them, wish the price hadn’t doubled. They are difficult to keep looking nice & conditioned. They scuff easily.I have thinner ankles, they are supportive for me.

Pretty good stuff
I needed a pair of steel toe boots for stagehand work. I was testing the waters when I took up the position. I didn't know how long I'd be doing this kind of work, so I didn't want to spend tons of money for something I'd use for just a short period of time. (Quality steel toe boots are typically spendy.) At the same time, I didn't want a cheap pair either because cheap = low quality. I learned it the pretty hard way after my nice-looking $25 pair of steel toe boots fell apart after just about eight months or so. That said, I'm so glad I've found a pair of Cat Echo that was easy on the wallet. I scored a great deal on a used one here on Amazon. It was most likely gently used or previously had never been worn at all since it practically looked and felt brand-new. So far, it's a good pair of boots. Sure, it's not as comfortable as wearing slippers, but it has plenty of cushion, which makes it a lot easier for me to stand and walk for long periods. I don't even have to buy extra cushioned insoles. The pair also looks stylish. It also fits me just fine. It feels roomy for my narrow, small feet. I've read complaints in this review section on how it's too narrow for some people, but I have no issues whatsoever. Everybody is different, and every body is different. The only issue is that I hurt my ankle when I tightened up the laces, but I've found that if I lace the boots loosely but securely, I'm pretty much OK. It looks like this pair of boots is pretty versatile. I plan to use it for hiking too.
