Most of these types are drum-centered modules. It does not require a drum kit, but needs an electronic sound module plus an amplification system of some kind, or headphones, to hear it. This pedal does not send a Midi signal. **Q: Will it work with Alesis drum pad?** A: As far as I know, a beaterless, silent kick pedal like the KU 100 doesn't require a drum pad. -If it's striking against an Alesis drum pad...it wouldn't be silent! so if you meant "will it work with Alesis drum MACHINE" -I'm not 100 % sure it will work with an Alesis, but I bet it will.
