From the manufacturer About Us In the early 1960s at Tokyo’s Bridgestone Museum of Art, curator Hideo Matsushita hosted LP listening concerts, where people would experience vinyl records played on high-quality audio equipment. Matsushita was moved by the positive reactions guests had to the music, but was frustrated that the expense of high-fidelity listening prevented many people from experiencing it. In 1962, Matsushita founded Audio-Technica with the vision of producing high-quality audio for everyone. And following this vision, he soon created the truly affordable phono cartridge, the AT-1, in the company’s small flat. Review: Perfect for out of frame shots - Great mic for everyone who wants to have it out of frame during calls or video podcasts. It needs xlr to usb interface e.g. Shure mvx2u to connect with pc. Very high voice clarity but obviously sounds best in treated rooms.

Sowohl in meinem YouTube-Studio, als auch draussen im Park hat sich das Mikrofon sehr gut geschlagen. Umgebungsgeräusche werden sehr gut unterdrückt, kein Betriebsgeräusch bzw. Grundrauschen (was bei Rode leider sehr extrem störend ist). Auf meinem YouTube-Kanal (Wheelxtech) habe ich die Mikrofone unten ausführlich getestet und AT875R ist mein Preis/Leistungssieger. **Q: How long is the cable?**
A: It doesn't actually come with a cable at all, you'll need to order one separately.

**Q: I want to plug this into a dslr using 3.5mm jack. is this possible? i know this thing uses xlr, is there a way around it?**
A: You can use an adapter without any audio issues but from a more practical perspective: when I've done this I've noticed the weight of the xlr ends tethered together tend to hang in an incovienient way, smack on things when moving and put undue stress on the jack. This is a great microphone but it might be a better idea long term to find something that terminates in the plug that matches the camera.

**Q: Has anyone used this for voiceovers?  Perhaps inlieu of a Sennheiser 416? What was the experience and how was the sound quality ?**
A: Yes,  it's suitable for V/Os. Distance it about a foot from the source. 
FYI,  my other mic is a 416.
Great if there's more than 2 person talking at a go. (it's not too directional,  so wil pick a bit better,  off axis)

**Q: Will this work with a Canon XA30 camcorder, without buy anything else?**
A: You will need an XLR-XLR cable. That's it.
