Very pleasing to the eyes
Like many of the other watches I've purchased on Amazon, the photos don't do this piece any justice. When you see it in person it looks much more handsome. The case has a mirror polish and is pretty thick for a watch(14mm), some may not like this but I love it. The window is slightly convex in shape and refracts light beautifully (which is a big plus for me, I always look for this in a watch). The face is nicely designed; it looks white in the ad but its more of a matte silver, and there's plenty of detail for the eye without it being too busy. The big date window with the logo above it looks very good. Most watches I've seen just have holes cut out of the face to reveal the date, but on this they gave it a 'framed' look with silver accents. The second hand with the cross is a really nice touch. However the most delightful surprise I found was when I first started up the movement. I didn't expect the three spoke wheel(?) in the open heart to turn in sync with the second hand, that was really neat. However this watch is not without fault. Generally I think the price could be better(I purchased it at 200 USD). Like some of the other reviewers indicated this watch does have some problems with it's finish. I do notice some area's where the polishing is less detailed. the band is pretty tough, it takes a bit of getting used to when wearing (broke mine in within a couple of days). I'm not very impressed with the rotor honestly, it's looks a bit bland, even with the brands name on it. The instruction manual was little more than a small three-fold piece of paper which was mostly in Germany, with poorly translated instructions (seemed like an after thought on the manufacturers part). I'm also concerned with two pieces of small debris stuck underneath the glass, barely visible but they are there. I should in that respect alone give this 3 stars(and that would be being nice), but all together i'm really happy with this piece and just felt compelled to put 4 stars down. I would recommend this watch to anyone interested, but if possible get a better deal considering the low level of quality control.I can't speak on the accuracy at the moment, I haven't had it long enough. So far it hasn't skipped a beat.

Almost fell in Love with this Watch but the Imperfections won't let me.
This is my first mechanical automatic watch. I've been searching for a long time for just the right watch with a clean elegant "open heart" face. This brand had the Look I was searching for at the price point for my budget. There is not much information about the company but it appears to be another (one of many) German companies that use Chinese watch movements instead of the more expensive Swiss. The watch forum "watchuseek" calls these companies Germasian watches. You can do your own research about Germasian watches and form your own opinion as to their degree of quality. With all that in mind, I decided to take a chance on this model and brand.I'm posting a review because there were not that many reviews on Amazon or the Internet for watches from this brand. In my search, I was able to find a few reviews on Amazon UK.Pros:Love the face of this watch.A lot of finishing touches for example: The rotor that winds the watch is etched with the brand's name unlike the picture on Amazon which did not show "Breytenbach" printed on the rotor. The second hand is adorned with the cross and circle which matches their logo. The metal buckle also has "Breytenbach" engraved on it.Roman numeral "IIII" is interesting and seems popular among "German-European" watchesCons:Imperfections : speck (very tiny) of dust on upper right near the logoA blue ink smudge on inside of crystal face at the 6'oclock position just bellow "30"These two marks are very tiny but when I studied my watch with my naked eye I could see them. Casually looking at the watch for the time or showing it off, one would never notice, but now that I know it's there it bothers me. I repeat you would not even notice them when glancing for the time. You have to really study the watch. Hopefully your watch won't come with any defects.Month and Week day dials are nice but too small (in my opinion)Watch is gaining time: about 20 seconds in 24 hours.I notice Lum on hands charge quickly with sunlight and glow brightly but will also fade quicklyWatch Functions {Not Cons}:Inset push buttons on side of case to set Day Date, Week Day, Month. When I got the watch and discovered the push buttons, I was afraid that the sub dials were just for show but the Date and Week Day will advance automatically past midnight. I have not tested the Month dial if it automatically advances.Update: the Month Dail does not advance automatically. You will have to do it every month using the push button. The sweep of the second hand is not as smooth as I wish it would be.The Movement: SeaGull ST2525 Automatic {very little info on the ST2525, it would be nice to know how many Jewels and the power reserve}I wish the company would post the power reserve limit. I have yet to test how long the watch will last. The brand's web site is: www dot breytenbach dot deUpdate Dec 29, 2011: My watch is definately gaining time. I have read on the watch forums that Seagull movements are poorly regulated at the factory and +/- 10 seconds is not uncommon. Properly regulated, they apparently keep good time. I have also read that the position of the watch could effect it's time keeping ie.(flat, on its side crown up or down etc...) I do not have a watch winder yet so it sits on my night stand while im sleeping. With a watch winder, the time keeping might be different.About the week day dial, I was up at midnight and watched the date window advance but the week day dial did not. I waited about 10 mins and it still did not move. I decided to go to sleep and check it in the morning. Sure enough when I checked it in the morning the week day advanced. It apparentaly takes up to 3 to 4 hours past midnight to advance the week day. I only mention it so you don't freak out when you come across this. It definetly made me nervous.

absolutely amazing, but not absolutely perfect
So I got the watch on new years day and i absolutely love it. The only thing I would change is the band due to personal preferences. I've looked all over the watch for flaws stated in the previous post and could not find any but one flaw. The face of the crown has a blue tint and scuffs around the outer edge as if it were unfinished in the polishing process. The whole watch is amazing and i have already gotten compliments. Time keeping is okay since I always have time to adjust it a little everyday cause 100% time keeping isn't a big deal to me. Otherwise I am happy with shipping speed, packaging, and everything else on the watch. I consider this a cheap buy that I do not regret one bit. Worth every cent I paid. Thank you everyone for your help too. Btw the 10 to 15 seconds is about right. If you at least have less than a few seconds out of the week to slightly adjust this watch then you will love it too.edit 6/2018 - not wearing it anymore as it sits on my shelf but the blue tint came off as it was just really thin plastic film protecting finish. just clearing that up on my previous review

Looks aren't everything...
Nicely styled watch and very cheap, but a super-thick case and quircky-jerky movement and stem means that this is not a bargain.

Another Great Value
I ordered this watch on a Saturday night using Amazon Prime 2 day delivery and it was waiting for me when I got home from work that Monday. The watch looks great has a good size and feel to it. If it stands the test of time I'd move it to five stars. I hesitate because I've had a couple less than great experiences with lower price automatic watch movements but decided for less than $110 I'd take a chance. So far so good.
