Robust and efficient
I had a cheap mincing garlic press, so cheap that it broke very easily. So I decided to purchase something durable and good quality. I am not disappointed with this one. Heavy and very efficient. It is very easy to clean it. It's worth the money.

Well made, in China, though, not Germany
Very solidly built, and an extremely clever design. Heavy weight and stainless steel, nothing to wear off or extrude into your food. Quite comfortable in the hand and extremely easy to use. No worries, as with other designs, about pinching the hands. All handle surfaces are nice and rounded. Cleans like a charm; the extruder plate swings right out for easy access to both sides for water or a basic brush. No tiny corners to trap small pieces. It also has a "camming" action which seems to reduce the force needed to squeeze, so those with either weaker grips or arthritis should have no problems. There was a question about where it was made. When I got mine, I took photos of a couple of items; one being the label that came stuck to it. As of August, 2017, there's no doubt that it ISN'T Germany. See the attached photo - it's definitely China. The other thing that I've noticed; no issues with it new, is whether or not in the future water will get into the handles. See the photos. Right now, it looks like there's some kind of "caulking" in the seams. Just wonder whether or not over time that will break down. Not thrilled with water sitting in a closed space, then near my food. That's a design issue, however, not related to where it was manufactured. All of this FYI. Happy cooking; fresh garlic is SO much better than pre-diced garlic in a jar! Oh - and I paid full price for this; this isn't one of those "they gave it to me by my opinion is unbiased" reviews that seem to be everywhere these days.

Mechanically very hard to press
Built with quality material but it is mechanically very hard to press even the garlic is peeled. I don't reccomend it.

Heavy duty
Built like a cross between a Swiss timepiece and a German tank this truly is the Volvo of garlic presses. Works well, the bar that cleans off the garlic isn't perfect but I suspect I'll still be using this in 20 years
