We can't take it apart and pack it separately. This way they are easily damaged. The original packaging is 2 boxes. **Q: The ones who love the cage, is it still strong enough for macaw? And still holding strength? Worth buyung this vs the expensive name brand?** A: It is a sturdy cage for med to small parrots . I have a Double yellow head Amazon and it’s not strong enough for him . It is definitely big enough for my Blue and Gold Macaw. Several of the pieces came bent/dented but nothing that made the cage unusable. The instructions are useless and we spent all day putting it together like a puzzle. One issue is that the threads in one of the bolt holes were messed up and the bolt wouldn't catch. My husband is handy and drilled a hole all the way through and used a new nut and bolt. The latches on the dish doors are held on by a screw, which naturally unscrews when you spin it to open it. They will need to be constantly tightened. On a good note, it's almost $300 cheaper than the brand name alternative. It fits well in my living room because of the corner design. Definitely takes 2 people to put together. Also, put the caster wheels on before you finish the project. You will not be able to lift this cage to install wheels when it's done. As for the sturdiness, I will have to update the review after a month or two as we dont have the bird yet.
