One day out of nowhere we noticed various orange rings on our brand new outdoor kitchen's granite counter. We still don't know what caused it but needless to say we were unhappy. I suspected it might be iron or rust based on the color but that was just a guess. I had mixed up other baking soda-based pastes that did nothing. I did not have high expectations for this product since I could not really find much info about it online. However, it took the stains out- I left it on for 24 hours and it was obvious it was working after a few hours. The instructions say to coat the entire counter so if there is discoloration it will at least be consistent and presumably less noticeable. I just rolled the dice and did the areas in question. The areas did look darker at first from being wet but in my case they're drying out and beginning to match the rest of the counters again. I suspect our counters weren't properly sealed, so lesson learned- I'm going to polish and seal them now so this won't happen again. I do wish this product came in a smaller size; I've got enough left to do my entire neighborhood.

This product is AMAZING. My wife put a basket on the counter for our soap bottle and sponge and little did we know the metal basket was leaving rust spots on the granite. Nothing would remove it but this product removed it completely. I’m very impressed.

Based on some of the reviews and photos posted I was really hoping this would remove the marks on our countertops. Unfortunately, after 3 applications it did not. It didn’t even appear to lighten them and now, after the last application, the counter that I applied it to no longer has a smooth surface but now has a rough feeling to it. I’ve tried cleaning it several times and it’s still rough. Should have just accepted these natural marks in the granite and left them alone!

Our outdoor granite developed prominent orange/yellow rust stains. We contacted a stone restoration company that recommended Akemi Rust Remover. We were very skeptical, but it far exceeded our expectations. The rust stains were completely gone with one treatment (see the before and after photos). It's easy to use (we used a foam paint brush), and there is ample in the bottle should this happen again. A truly remarkable product! Can't recommend it highly enough.

Right after my granite countertop was installed, I noticed a bright orange spot, the size of a dime, next to the sink. My granite was all shades of gray, and this spot really stood out. I was told there is iron in the stone and it oxidized in this area--part of the beauty of natural stone. I didn't think it was beautiful. I used this rust remover and now it is gone. It did take several applications over several days to remove it completely, I am so pleased with how well this product worked.
