Waterproof tape
This is not tape as you think of tape. No sticky adhesive. It is stretchy rubber that fuses to itself when wrapped forming a solid piece of rubber. Once fused it will not unwrap but you have to make sure the loose end fuses. For extra protection and durability wrap over it with electrical tape. I use this mainly for my radio coax connectors and it really keeps the moisture out. Amazing stuff if you want a durable, long lasting water proof connection. Also great for tool handles.

Stretchable, self-fusing silicone tape
Compared to others I have tried, this is the most uniform & consistent of material. It is also more expensive, so consider this top end. The first inch or two has a tape on one side; cut that off & the remaining roll is free & clear on both sides. Obviously, stretch & press into itself to fuse. Water tight.

A Versatile Asset For Home And Auto
Before there was vinyl electrical tape, there was rubber tape, which made nice lumpy insulation on power cords, but has to be wrapped in a cloth tape ("friction tape") to protect it. I'm betting it still gets used for heavy-duty, industrial electrical connections. Meanwhile, if you just need to cover something, bicycle handlebars or a rotting brake handle hood, a slippery doorknob, a tool handle, this stuff is excellent. You stretch it while applying and wrap it in layers and it sticks to itself and stays like that. A good addition to a toolbox or kitchen junk drawer.

This tape works soooo well
We were traveling with our 5th wheel and a fender started to come off because 3 screws vibrated loose. Duct tape only seemed to work for one day's travel (<250 miles). This stuff held!! Like for days and even in heavy winds. The only draw back is the residue it leaves behind. I don't think my husband has actually tried to remove it yet. But the important thing is that it did the job!!

It is good stuff once stretched
This is good fusing tape and after years of reviewing Amazon products I've decided to stop giving so many 5-star reviews. This tape works great when stretched and adheres to itself well just like it should. It's thick and didn't break easily in the few times I've used it so far on my trailer. The only thing is that when hanging up in the shop, the tape doesn't stay stuck to the roll, so it might get dirt under the last inch or so. Otherwise it's great.

Great tape, never lets you down, remains flexible for very long periods, also a good insulator.
This stuff is worth it's weight in gold, it's really something every electrician or serious DIY's should always have on hand. Sure, you don't normally use this every day, but when you need, well, you need it and probably ASAP to help wrap up a job.Really thick, bonds to itself extremely well, I just can't imagine anything working better than this quality 3M product.
