Like several other comments on here, I found the assembly instructions to be quite vague. I had to go back to the Amazon page to look at pictures of the assembled product. Once I figured it out, the design made sense, and the product is straightforward to use. I tested the carrier on an 900 mile round trip, and it held up just fine. My only slight annoyance is the carrying rack appears to be angled back towards the car and tilted to the driver's side. It appears the bolt hole was machined in a location to create this angle. Unsure if it was intentional. Just looks a bit funny, but it holds up.

I purchased this carrier primarily to go on the back of an RV. The hinge made it extend back too far to the rear. Fortunately the hinge is removable and the carrier still fits and pins in the receiver, and I can use the hinge if I mount it on my truck. The hitch has a little wobble in the receiver, but so do all hitches I've used. I have a 4000 W generator and two 30 lb. LP gas bottles on the carrier with room for lawn chairs. The cargo net and ratchet tie downs are a nice addition. Cant rate the weatherproof feature yet.

First issue is that the assembly diagrams don't actually match the carrier. this isn't a biggie. if you're mechanically inclined you will figure it out. the big difference is that the retention pin (for helping it fold) DOES NOT go **through** the structure of the carrier. it sits on TOP or BELOW... this is significantly different from the instructions, which brings us to the second issue.One and *just one* bolt holds the carrier deck to the hitch mount -- which is ALSO THE PIVOT bolt and it's the lightest weight bolt in the pack! now there is not going to be much force on that bolt, which is fine, but if they'd have built it like it was diagramed in the manual with the retention pin going through the carrier deck support and hitch it would be much much stronger (the retention pin is like 2.5x the thickness of the pivot bolt which secures the thing to the hitch).it's a stupid design choice when to do it properly would have meant just putting the holes in different places. which they obviously thought about because that's the way it's diagramed in the manual. Anyway that's what cost them the star.. I'm still gonna use it for my trip as again the pull forces on that one single little bolt aren't going to be that significant.

Attaches easily to hitch and carries alot of weight

Definitely gave me more cargo space for my recent camping trip. WARNING: if you own a Jeep Wrangler like mine you cannot open the rear door or window with this installed. You have to pack the car then attach the carrier and load it. Also the included carrier net is pretty worthless. The big plastic hooks on it won't fit over the carrier frame and stretching them around the frame to hook onto the netting is almost impossible since your load is in the way. But I didn't buy it for the netting!

Very well made. Very strong. Went together very easy. Did NOT have any issues with the instructions like some others mentioned. Had a few cosmetic scratches but most things of this size and weight usually do. I have a quick spray paint with a flat black which i had planned to do any way after assembly. A+

We bought this for the back of our camper for coolers. Works great. Easy access to the coolers too.
