Best premium granular activated charcoal I have found to achieve clear water. I always rinse my charcoal granuals before using them and I change them on a regular basis to ensure that I am polishing my water rather than exposing my system to excess adsorbed nitrates from overused, nitrate-saturated charcoal. I use the ratio of 1 cup per 100 gallons. I use my activated charcoal in my tank's sump's reactor filter. I cannot strongly enough emphasize that activated charcoal is not a day-to-day aquarium filtration medium. It is for water polishing and intermittent use. I got this to help keep my freshwater tank cleaner, and so far, it seems to be doing a great job. In just a couple of days, my tank looks a whole lot clearer. I put this product directly into media reactor (no bags). I am pleased with this product!
