TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extender Dual Band 5GHz/2.4GHz (RE315)

We haven't been getting a good WIFI signal in our attached garage and I finally decided to do something about it. I haven't studied this stuff at all, so I'm not very knowledgeable. I just wanted an inexpensive fix for now because we are on the verge of getting fiber optic, and I will probably do some sort of mesh system at that time. I am really happy with this TP-Link extender because it was inexpensive, easy to set up (I used the app, but you don't have to), and it really did the trick for getting a strong signal in the garage! The extender has it's own network, and I wasn't sure if I would have to go and select that network each time I used it or not, but I don't. My phone or device will just automatically connect to either the router or the extender (probably based on signal strength). It works sort of like a mesh in that way, but I'm sure it is slower to switch over than the mesh, but still not too bad. We live in a rural area without good cell phone connection and really rely on WIFI calling, so now when I am working in the garage I don't have to worry. The signal goes well beyond the garage, so the range is very good for our needs.

Covers a lot of ground. Easy to setup, just plug and connect to the WiFi. Provides both 2.4ghz and 5ghz frequency. Extends the range as intended. Holds decent speed. Great value for money, it’s cheaper compared to other brands. Easily connects to your home WiFi. Set it up in a corner where you’d like to extend coverage.

Easy to set up: Download the app, create an account, plug the unit into a wall outlet and that’s pretty much it. I will warn you that it creates a new/different WiFi network, so when you’re in the dead zone you’ll have to go into your WIFi settings and select the new network. My dead zone was in the attached garage where I had no WiFI signal and my iPhone switched to 5G. Now I have full strength WiFi in the garage. Our Peloton (also in the garage) went from 2 out of 4 WiFi bars to 3 out of 4 bars. Not sure why it’s not 4/4, like the iPhone, but still an improvement.

We got this TP-Link WiFi extender to help with a couple of areas in the house where our WiFi signal was weak, and it has definitely made a difference. Setup was pretty simple and didn’t take long. Once connected, we had a much stronger and more reliable signal in rooms that used to have trouble staying connected. It’s been great for streaming, phones, and other everyday devices. It does take up a little space around the outlet, but overall it works well and was an easy solution for extending our WiFi coverage.

I love these TP-Link wifi extenders. They are so easy to setup in the app and are pretty versatile for many situations. I have no need for more expensive extenders as these provide over 200 megs of speed off the extender. They are compatible on my smart devices as well and I think they are a great value. I can get around 100 ft or more of range from the extender. I use mine to go between my house and garage for the garage door.

This item was reasonably priced and had good reviews. The setup instructions were average (not bad; not great). I hated having to setup an account with TapoLink for yet another tech device to use in my home.The actual setup was fairly easy but it took trying 8 different locations in the house to get the "oh so wonderful coverage" promised in the write up of this WiFi extender. [Please read that statement as highly sarcastic. It's not wonderful].Basically I'm getting only an additional 15ft extension to a security camera outside. Not the exaggerated sq ft coverage mentioned in the product write up. There is no brick or steel blocking the signal. But I will concede that my IP is also unreliable. Can you say ComCast?Anyway, right now after a few hours the camera is receiving a 100% WiFi signal after struggling to get 35% from a router only 30 ft away.More and more I find technology to be not what it's cracked up to be. But this did correct a problem. Unfortunately I won't know if the second camera will get coverage once I install that because after trying 8 locations for the extender it isn't in a location I find efficient. But we will see.Let you know later. Doubt I will give this product more than 4 stars. It isn't a 5 star product imo.

I bought this wonderful "gadget" before my husband and I left for our Florida vacation home for last winter. The Wi-Fi signal back in the master bedroom hardly picked up the house's internet at all. The TV back there kept loosing internet on a regular basis. I plugged this in, followed the instructions, and voila! Since using this we have not lost internet connection to that tv at all! The only reason for giving it 4 stars is that it did take a little back and forth with the connection that I had to do on my smartphone. Once connected though, it was just what we needed!

Highly effective at fixing home dead zones. Setup took under five minutes using the Tether app, and the smart signal light made it easy to find the perfect wall outlet placement. It keeps all my smart home devices stable and connected. The only downside is that the plug design is bulky and blocks the second wall outlet. Highly recommended for a fast, affordable Wi-Fi fix!

Desde la instalación hasta el funcionamiento. La instalación es muy sencilla con la app y algo de ayuda con AI. Pero igual incluye su instructivo.Tenemos una casa de dos pisos, y el módem se encuentra abajo. Lo coloqué en un tomacorriente del segundo piso que está casi encima del módem. Lo compramos, porque en un dormitorio del piso de arriba no llegaba la señal wifi para una Smart TV, y ahora funciona perfecto! Se generan dos señales adicionales que emulan las dos originales (2.4 y 5). Y de verdad amplifica bastante la señal. Antes nos llegaban recién dos rayitas, ahora las cuatro! Muy contenta.
