SOG PowerPint Mini Compact Stainless Steel Multi-Tool, 18 Lightweight Specialty Tools & SOG Multitool Pliers Pocket Knife, Black

As part of being a bit of an EDC junkie I sometimes can't help myself by adding a new tool for my arsenal. I've had the Leatherman Squirt and Gerber Dime, which although good, sometimes seem a bit too small to be practical. The SOG PowerPint is about 1.5-2x larger than them but still smaller than a traditional sized tool like a Leatherman Rebar or bigger. Also being priced at under $40USD ($35 at time of purchase) it fit the need for something lightweight while still being realistically capable. SOG's geared power assist mechanism is alive and well even in this tiny model giving you pretty good grip strength on something so small, and I really appreciate the integrated bit driver slot in the geared section giving it a lot of versatility. Again, this is NOT a full sized tool, so look elsewhere if that's what you're looking for. For something smaller when wearing shorts or a suit at the office, it's a great set of a few tools to be capable even when you're not trucking around the outdoors.

My absolute go to EDC multitool. Compact. Durable and dependable. I broke my file on my first one due to my own dumbassery. Bought two more and haven't had any issues. Love this tool!!!

This tool is a lot better than I expected it to be. The plier jaws use SOG's compound leverage mechanism, which means they don't open quite as wide as pliers of comparable size, but they easily grip at least 2x tighter, maybe more. It has the standard array of tools, all of which are accessible when the tool is in the closed position, which for me is a big plus. The knife blades are decent, a bit on the small side, but not as nice as what you'd get in a Victorinox SAK (Maybe this is an unfair comparison, but I love Victorinox SAKs). The scissors are nicer than I was expecting. They can cut paper, stray shirt threads, even trim fingernails. This is generally how I view all of the tools in this multitool. They're all decent and functional, but not top-tier. None of them are garbage, but none of them are amazing. they're all just "pretty good", with one significant exception... My absolute favorite feature is the fact that, when the tool is in the closed position, you can grip a standard 1/4" screwdriver bit in the hinge mechanism. If you are unfamiliar, this is the type of bit used in standard/common exchangeable bit screw drivers (not the double ended type). This bit-grip mechanism works VERY well. I've been working in I.T. for 25 years. This little guy has been my backup screwdriver since the day I bought it. The knife blades (one straight edge, one serrated edge) are not bad. They can open Amazon boxes, envelopes, etc. I'd 100% call them "light duty" blades. This is a very compact tool, especially considering it's a pliers-based tool. It's more or less about as large as a standard swiss army knife (maybe very slightly wider), but it has a pocket clip, so it can live securely in the fifth pocket/zippo pocket of your pants. This little tool is quite easy to use and while it could be less expensive, I don't feel that it is overly expensive. If you already have a swiss army knife (or other small multitool) that you like to use, you do not need this tool. However, if you do not yet have a small multitool (Victorinox/Leatherman/etc.) this is one you should absolutely consider.

The PowerPint has become my favorite multitool. It has every tool I’d like to carry and is ready for all kinds of tasks. It is extremely durable, each tool feels great, and is designed in a way that is tiny, but packs a punch. I got it in black for myself, and silver for my Step Dad, and not colors look great. It was initially a little bit hard to get out the tools, but since I’ve used it for a bit now, it is much easier to open. I don’t think that there is a multitool out there that is a better value for the money.

There is something to be said about ergonomics, and these fit very nicely in the hand. They are not bulky or square like some other equally affordable options. The knife's profile is like a slightly modified Sheep's Claw, so make sure that won't bother you. I find because of how light weight, but sturdy the PowerPint is, that I actually carry it everywhere; unlike heavier, larger options where I get tired of the extra bulk and weight and end up not carrying them regularly because I simply get tired of it. For sometime, I thought the one design flaw was how I had to open the tool up, to hit the release and fold the tool I was using back up, but this isn't true. If you simply open up another tool, about half way, the lock releases on all the tools and you can fold them away - see video. It also has a nice spot for a 1/4 driver - maybe consider the ratcheting inline one from 711L to really turn this into an extremely functional 1/4 driver as well.

Bought these for my boys who are 9 and 11. They are Scouts and this is definitely not a toy. It's a quality knife but the smaller size made it perfect for smaller hands. It's a medium size multi tool... Not a keychain sized but a full fledged multi tool. Smaller than your average multi tool though. Definitely usable by an adult and is strong... The pliers are a quality grip. The blades/tools lock and are easily unlocked. The knife is sharp but might be slightly thin... You can whittle with it but I wouldn't set it to task on heavy duty applications. You'll want a full sized blade for that. That said though... There are no shortage of situations where this will come in handy. I keep a Leatherman Squirt PS4 on my keychain and it's probably my most used knife. This is more capable than that.

Ok this thing seems well build for how small it is. Out of the box though it sucks hence my title of this. Now after I gave it some TLC. I love this little thing and is my edc for around those house. Out of the box all the tools that should be sharp are dull. The can opener especially. Now after I sharpened up the blades the straight knife is razor sharp and the serrated one is also very sharp. I took a dremmel to the can opener to make a Edge and then took a wet stone to it now it will open cans no problem. Now my biggest pet peeve of this multitool was there was no flat driver so once again took out the dremmel and made two one at the end of the file and one at the end of the bottle opener (which should have had one there anyways, when you look at it you will understand). Once that was done I carry it everyday. So if your a handy person and wants a little (pun) project. I say go for it. When it's on sale.

I don't write many reviews, but i've been so impressed with the PowerPint that I had to leave one for this. I've used it for several months now and can't say enough good things about it. I have other larger multi-tools like the Leatherman Surge, but I use this 99% of the time now. It's small enough to put it in your pocket, and you don't even notice it's there. The best feature is that it's convenient to carry, so it's always around when I need it. I've used it to work on mowers, boats, kid's toys, golf carts, the list is endless. The flat head it comes with is pretty small, but i've found it works great as a pry bar for working on smaller electronics (like replacing batteries in a key fob). I've used the file quite a bit for things like cleaning up terminal connections, touching up fishing hooks, etc. At some point or another i've used everything on it, and so far, nothing has failed. It's saved me quite a bit of time over the last few months by not having to go hunt for a specific tool to get something fixed. Overall, this is one of the most used tools I own, simply because I always have it on me.
