Working with Macbook Pro 2015 (A1398) after some fiddling
I've never opened a Mac laptop, but it was easy to install with the screwdrivers.Unfortunately, using Cmd+R recovery mode, my Macbook Pro A1398 did not recognise the drive. However I found something online saying to use Cmd+Opt+R - this seemed to load a more recent recovery mode, and the drive was recognised and I was able to install latest OS without issues.

Highly recommend
I was stuck booting my MacBook using an external drive after my ssd completely died. The only macOS available to me via recovery reinstall was really old - Yosemite 10.10.5. This set up was less than ideal, and any upgrades were refusing to install due to missing firmware partition. Every ssd replacement online stated it needed Higher Sierra to install but I took a chance with this pre installed ssd and the whole process was smooth sailing. I had expected to encounter at least a few issues with upgrading the macOS but it was incredibly straightforward and once the ssd was fixed into place the MacBook booted up like a new. I could upgrade straight from Catalina to Monterey with no issue at all. Hoping this new ssd has a long life ahead of it! Highly recommended.

Easy to install
The SSD failed on my 11" MacBook air. Looked up how to replace it on the internet. It is pretty straight forward. Take off the back of case. Disconnect the battery lead. The SSD is held in place by one screw. Remove screw, unplug SSD, put in new SSD, replace screw. The hardest part was making sure the battery connector was firmly back in place, then put the back on the case. The best thing about this replacement SSD is that it comes preloaded with the mac OS, so once it is in place just turn the computer on and it runs straight away without connecting an external start up disc or downloading the OS from the internet. I did find it took a couple of minutes to initially start up. I assumed I did not have the battery connector properly located and had started to take the back of the case half off when the machine came to life.

Saved a lot of pain and anguish
What do you do when your SSD dies in your 2013 MacBook Air? Panic! After spending days looking into replacing my SSD, I was really hopeful when I found this product. Anything to save me being limited to whatever Mountain Lion would use. The installation instructions were very well written. Included tools worked perfectly and the Haribo was a nice little touch. My MBA now has a faster new lease of life and I no longer have to use WIndows. Wins all around.

Worked as advertised, used to replace dead SSD with old OSX
Works as described. After 9 years my internal SSD suddenly died, so needed to replace. Went for the 1TB option. The instructions were more for upgrade of a working system - not a dead one like mine. So was a little more complicated for me. As is came pre formatted (for a new OS), which when restored via Time Machine (when booting to Internet Recovery Mode) complained as not recognised. So after time machine restore, needed to update OS, then all worked. My takeway is PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USE TIME MACHINE TO BACK UP YOU MAC. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOUR SSD WILL DIE AND YOU WILL NEED IT.Tools provided work. But instructions could do with spelling out that MacBook Pro (2013 Retina) screws are 2 different sizes so keep them in order. Oh, and also after opening up the case, discovered the battery was swollen and also needed replacing - which was another load of fun getting that out!Only time will tell how long this one lasts.Woiuld recommend and buy again

run latest mac os monterey with no problem
this is the 512gb ssd for macbook pro, i ordered it for my old macbook pro retina early 2015 which ran with a small 128gb ssd, it’s always out of disk spacethis is a 512gb ssd which is 4 times capacity of the old one, should good enough for a few more yearsit’s much more easier to install than i thought, 2 necessary screwdrivers are included, i wish they include a pry tool as it’s needed to disconnect the battery; there is a link to tutorial in the leaflet included, i spent just about 15 minutes for the hardware installationthis ssd has os catalina pre-installed, so it’s plug and play, saved me much time for preparing thumb drive installation, i upgraded to os monterey after initial setup my user information, absolutely no problem to upgrade to the latest oslastly, it’s very fast in read/write speed, 2 times the original mac ssd speed (old: 632mbps vs new: 1217mbpsall in all, i’m very satisfied with this product, would recommendhope you find these information helpful

EDIT BROKE AFTER 4 MONTHS - Works like a dream
I was very happy with this product until it defaulted showing me folder with a question mark no matter what I did. This is very sad as I lost many documents and will be getting in touch with customer service for a refundAs a complete tech novice, I was able to replace my SSD drive with the tools provided very easily. The fact that this drive has Catalina pre-installed is an absolute life saver. I backed up my previous drive on Time machine and plugged it in when I booted up the laptop after changing the drive. It worked like a charm although it did take about two hours to complete the file migration. I'm writing this review 20 minutes later, touch wood my mac continues working. But at the moment, I can visibly see a difference in the temperature of my machine and the amount of noice it was previously making as the result of running on a 128go drive.
