Great Office Chair
I had an Aeron Chair at work, and then I brought it home during the Pandemic. After 17 years (early 2007-late 2023), the seat support broke, but it was actually still functional (and fairly comfortable). Since I was retiring at the end of 2023, I had to return this chair anyway. Knowing how much I loved the Aeron Chair, I pursued this option through Amazon, which is less than half as expensive as a new Aeron Chair purchased through Herman Miller. I knew that the chair was probably refurbished, but it looks and feels as good as a new chair. Keep in mind, that the new chair arrives in a box with some assembly and no written instructions. There are plenty of assembly videos on youtube.com that help guide you through the minimal assembly. If you love the Aeron Chair, I definitely recommend this approach. UPDATE AND WARNING: A few months after purchasing this chair (i.e., early 2024), the support bolt broke, similar to what happened with my original office chair. Only thing, is that didn't happen until 15 years after I first got it. The one I bought for myself lasted only a few months. I jury-rigged a fix, but it is not as comfortable as the original.

HM aeron chairs are the best I've ever had, but NOT THIS ONE
I've had HM aeron chairs for over ten years now, I sit in them for close to fifteen hours a day all year long (bc of my job, plus my personal time) they're the best chairs I've ever owned and I'm unlikely to ever use another. Except for this one. I've never had any problems with any of the other aerons I've owned before and I upgrade every few years and give the old ones to friends or family (who are still happily using them with no issues to my knowledge). This chair however, has barely lasted a year and a half and the gas cylinder has given up. I'll move it up to where I want it and within half an hour it's bottomed out again. Now this wouldn't be a huge deal normally, the cylinder in office chairs are replaceable with a little effort and a decently priced replacement part that's usually around $50-$60; a far better deal than buying an entire new chair for $700-$1000, right? Not in this case. There IS NO COMPATIBLE REPLACEMENT CYLINDER for this chair. It's a discontinued model from around 2016 and all the replacement cylinders on the market specify non-compatibility with chairs of this manufacturing date. I've looked all over for parts that could even be passably compatible and found nothing. Which really sucks because HM aerons are incredible chairs and the company doesn't skimp on quality. They're comfortable, help me prevent back and shoulder pain, they're durable as hell (my previous ones survived multiple moves across the country), they're low to no maintenance aside from the occasional dusting, I got the posture fit with this one but even normal ones usually fit the body nicely, they have good height adjustment ranges that will fit 80% of desks. But this one chair has been an annoying hassle of a disappointment, and now because I can't find a simple replacement part that SHOULD be very easy to find, I have to go drop another few hundred dollars on a new chair after only a year and a half. This 'renewed' stuff? I call bs. You're better off getting an actual new one with replacement parts available on the market with or without a protection plan, and enjoying it for at least 5-10 years before you even need to think about getting another. The oldest one I know of belonged to my father (a heavy individual), and he had it for eleven years before he gave it to my uncle and upgraded to a new model.

Great Chair at a great price
Excellent design, superior comfort, all features. Amazon Warehouse Deals once again helped me get a great product at an excellent price. The chair has all adjustments plus posturefit lumbar. If you buy from Warehouse Deals it is typically a return shipment that is marked down, but retains the factory warranty and original box. The box is huge and does get some transit damage but the chair is in excellent condition. You can't go wrong snagging one when it comes available.

Appearance was good at 1st but ages very poorly
Everything out of the box seemed very good, not perfect. But was very good at 1st. After about 1 year I noticed a lot of play in the seat and especially the arm rests. I bought another used chair locally that has a date code from the 2000's and it has held up way better. Not sure if the parts they use to refurbish these chairs sold on amazon are compatible or not genuine replacement parts. my arm rests now after 7 years are very loose and the seat has a lot of play even when locked out. Starting get get some back pain now when sitting in it. I know 7 years is a long time, but for the price I would hope it would hold up better over time. Going to start looking for different chairs.

Very nice
Been using the chair for about a few weeks now, and I really like it, notwithstanding some minor nits to pick. First, the build quality is excellent. The materials are top notch, and it feels substantial and sturdy. Very nicely made. Looks stylishly modern. I find the various tilt settings very useful. The forward setting promotes good posture while working. The chair has an adjustable stop which limits the distance you can lean back to some fully adjustable amount. You can lock the chair in the upright position or allow it to go fully back and everything in between. It's a great feature. I generally like to lean back only a slight amount when relaxing. Ordinary office chairs won't allow this. The lumbar support is adequate and seems to promote healthy posture. The nits: I don't like the adjustable arms. They tend to move down if you put too much pressure on them, as I do because I have a habit of pushing myself up out of the chair against the arms. Also, I'm not sure why the arms swivel side to side. It's not useful, and it doesn't take much pressure to move the arms out of place. Not a big deal, but I'd rather the arms be stationary and rigid. (Aside from the product review, consider buying from Herman Miller directly. The seller was really sketchy and didn't provide any documentation or warranty information with the chair. The packaging was obviously not factory. I feel like this may have been a previously used, returned or reconditioned chair. To me, it would have been worth the extra money. This isn't the first time I've had this feeling from Amazon sellers.)

Broke Down & Spent The Bucks, Glad I Did!
After agonizing about spending this much on a office chair, I finally broke down and did it. I work from home and after years of suffering with the latest $100-150 special from the big box store that I'd replace every two years, I just did it and I'm so glad I did. I selected a chair that came directly from Amazon itself. This is not to say anything negative about third party sellers, and I have purchased from many over the years without issue but I just wanted that extra bit of assurance when spending this kind of money. The chair came with the warranty info and I immediately registered it. Glad to have the 12 year safety net in case something goes wrong. The setup was minimal since the chair was assembled and I pulled it straight from the huge box it came in. I think I had to put the back support on which took all of two minutes. It was very refreshing after the usual "put tab A into slot B" nonsense with cheapo chairs. The truth is that I don't notice the chair at all, that might seem weird to say about something that cost over $800 (I got this on one of the rare 15% off sales). However, that is just the point. No more back pain, no more noticing how uncomfortable I am....now I just feel comfortable and can sit at my desk much longer (yes, I know it's not good to sit at your desk too long). I realize everyone can't justify doing this or afford it...it was a stretch for me and the most I've ever spent for any office furniture. However, I have my own business and I am a solopreneur so I have to keep my #1 employee (me) productive and healthy. I say definitely give it a go if you can if you are looking for a chair that you will sit on for long periods of time. So, rather than spending $150 every other year and investing as much or more I recommend just biting the bullet and invest in something in which you'll spend a huge amount of time. Look at it this way, with the 12-year warranty it should last you at least that long. If you amortize the investment over that may years its not that bad. Happy sitting!

Nice chair. Definitely used.
Chair arrived today, easy assembly, sits just fine relatively comfortable . Most definitely a used chair. They did an ok job cleaning it I suppose but didnโt expect it to be as nicked up as it was. $500 for a $1000 chair I should have expected it, still a good deal, but would be nice to know up front. Hope it holds up in the long run.

duties
The chair is good, but do notice that you'll get an additional bill for import duties - it's shipped from the US. So expect the final price to be the advertised plus ~100 CAD.
