I purchased this, initially, as part of a project to build out a small quick-access hiking kit which would contain batteries, electrolytes, and some other small necessities so I wouldn't have to dig through my pack to get them. It is a little large for that, I think, and a little heavy - though for some use cases it would be quite suitable. However, it does make for a great battery case - I now have it sitting right next to my battery charger, and keep all my 18650 cells stored in it while they are not in use. Both protected and unprotected cells fit without an issue. I am really quite happy with it in this regard - before, they were in open-air caddies, exposed to dust and moisture, but now they are well protected from everything.The latch is very robust and snaps better than any other box I've seen on the market. This is not one of those cheap battery cases you see all over the internet, this is well made, it has heft and strength to it.The two foam inserts are not secured in the frame, and will fall out on their own. Normally this would cost the product a star, but I find it useful, as I can use the box for some other purpose by removing the insert, if I wish. It is also a trivial matter to secure the insert into the bottom or lid using a mild spray adhesive, so it isn't really a problem.If you are looking for a case to protect your 18650 cell, this one is is a great candidate.

Most battery cases are thin an flimsy, this is thick and solid with secure clasps and foam padding on top and bottom to keep batteries from moving around. The only minor flaw is that padding is not secured in place and comes off when opening, but nothing a dab of glue or as I used, a piece of double sided tape, won’t fix.

It was just what I was looking for. It seem sturdy. I am not excited about the closure it seems a bit exposed and at risk of break, but time will tell. I have bought 2 more since the firstone.

The case is well made and the batteries fit well. It includes an actual hinge and a hinged latch, each with metal pins, and latches securely in place.

Works fine, but had hoped it held the batteries tighter so they didn't rattle. Other than that it's pretty good. Better that loose 18650s running around.
