Buy once cry once
Hard to swallow the price tag on this one but it IS a beautifully machined piece of aluminum that fits the body like a glove. No, it does not allow for direct access to the battery but if you charge via USB this is a none issue. The little flip out tab for the attachment screw is also very easy to use so removing the grip to change the battery if you had to really isn't all that hard or time consuming. Considering the additional protection this provides (having a continuous bottom plate) I'm fine with the design choice here.If you have larger hands, this thing is really something you need to experience. It's the first time I've been able to comfortably rest my pinky on the front of the grip (instead of under it) without having to attach a battery grip. It takes the already comfy 100s and turns it up to 11.I deducted one star for the price, it should be $75-80. But then again, they made the batteries cheaper...so maybe they get half a star back?Call it 4.5/5 ;)Truly the best in-hand camera experience I've ever had: the 100s with this thing attached to it.

Not up to Fujifilm Standards
This "grip" is really more of a platform. It gives just a little more area for the heel of your right hand, and allows you to mount the camera to an Arca-type tripod or monopod head. The taper on the left side makes it more comfortable than similar products with more pronounced corners and edges.Where Fuji really blew it is with access to the battery; you have to remove this to change batteries. Doesn't make sense and that's a decision Fuji made. I have a product by another manufacturer that does let you change batteries easily -- so we know that CAN be done. The only issue with the non-Fuji plate is that it is less comfortable for long shooting sessions.I'm tempted to take a rotary tool to this one and fix things myself.

Works well, but
You have to take it off to swap the battery. It looks like part of the camera when its attached, which is nice. It was the first Arc Swiss plate for the Fuji GFX100s, now I start to see others including L brackets. No doubt it works well.

Well made, but poor design.
Plate is well made, but having to remove it to change the battery is a real inconvenience. I would recommend looking for other options.
