Great source for educators
As a supply chain management (SCM) educator I am always in need of good cases and teaching materials that can be used in class. I was very pleased when I came across Chuck Munson's Supply Chain Management Casebook. First, it covers SCM in its breadths, including but not limited to cases related to supply chain strategy and design, purchasing and supplier management, transportation, logistics and warehousing, as well as inventory planning and forecasting. Therefore, the book is very suitable for introductory courses in SCM specializations, as well as courses that aim to provide an overview of SCM in general management programs. Second, it deals with strategic, tactical and operational problems companies face. Likewise, the cases are written about some well-known firms and some lesser known medium-sized organizations. Third, it offers a balanced set of cases that can be approached analytically and qualitatively, hence, there is something in for the application of different methods. Finally, the questions accompanying each chapter can be used as assignments or for class discussion. In sum, the book keeps what it promises, it provides a "comprehensive coverage" and is source for "best practices in SCM." I definitely can recommend the book.

I love this book and will use it in my SCM class
I am in search of some up-to-date real-life cases to be used in my SCM class. This book is just the one I am looking for! The 30 cases are selected from more than 10 developing or developed countries in America, Europe, and Asia. It covers a multitude of hot SCM issues such as risk management, perishable inventory management, quantitative method application, lean production, aggregate planning, cost analysis, facility layout, pricing, queuing theory application, third-party logistics, ethical and environmental issue, multinational logistics, multi-echelon inventory decision, and so on. I really enjoy reading this book and have learned a lot from these wonderful cases myself. I highly recommend this book to the researchers, students, and other practitioners in Supply Chain Management.

A Timely Book for SCM Professionals!
Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a fascinating subject blending theory and practice, as well as art and science. Practical cases are therefore valuable materials for enriching classroom activities and after-class assignments. Chuck Munson's case book has arrived timely and is the most comprehensive case book to date available for SCM educators and self learners. The book not only covers a wide range of critical and challenging topics in current supply chains, but also touches upon unique issues arising from different geographical locations. It is definitely a great companion for any SCM textbook and a useful supplement to learning materials for both undergraduate and graduate courses. A big thumb-up and thank-you!!
