How large is large? The description says 14 x 5 x 3 inches, but that doesn't make sense. How wide is it really? How long is the strap when unfastened?

Mine is 19 1/4 in. long over all . Does make a loop that should hold something about 5 in. diameter. Strap is 1 1/2 in. wide.

What is the weight rating?

I wouldn't fix more than ten pounds with it. It's ideal for an fire extinguisher charged with eight pounds net weight.
